Maid of Honor
Chelsea is Jenna's sister/best friend/maid of honor/wedding planner/soulmate. Whether they are ice climbing together, convincing each other to get a spray tan, watching Friends for the ten millionth time, or Facetiming in different timezones, Chelsea and Jenna are inseparable somehow even when they are 1000 miles apart. In addition to being Jenna's total rock, Chelsea is also an awesome wife, an insanely compassionate mother to the cutest kids you have ever seen (See Flower Girls), a badass rock climber, an absolutely adored and hardworking teacher, a memorizer of random lines from Disney movies, and the hottest and most fun person you'll ever meet. Get ready for a whole lotta love from this one.
Bridesmaid
The year was 2008 and the setting was PacSun at the Colorado Mills mall. Kennie worked as Jenna's manager, but by an odd but very real store rule that was taken surprisingly seriously, because of the power imbalance of their positions, the two girls weren't allowed to hang out or be friends. By day, they bonded over folding denim and sorting hangers, but by night, a secret best-friendship was forming. 11 years later, through graduations and universities and jobs and cities, still using their secret code names for each other that they came up with to keep their friendship hidden at PacSun, Jenna can't wait to have Kennie stand beside her on her wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Jenna met Lauren at a Colorado rock climbing gym when she was 19 years old. They became immediately attached at the hip, spending chunks of afternoons in between Jenna's college classes watching Disney movies and baking (Lauren baking, Jenna pretending to help but mostly just licking the bowl), and every evening climbing and bouldering. Lauren's zest for life and fun and adventure brings joy to Jenna's life every single day, whether they're ice climbing in Colorado or laughing hysterically over the phone while Jenna's stuck in traffic. Look for these two giggling like schoolgirls all night long at the wedding!
Bridesmaid
Jenna and Lizzie met at Loyola Marymount in 2014, when they both started an MFA program for writing and producing. They formed a tight bond during four hour-long screenwriting classes, disastrous mistakes on student film shoots, and finding they had a shared love for breaking down movies so bad you can't believe they were made. A supremely talented director and hauntingly good writer, Lizzie was Jenna's first LA best friend and first cure for homesickness. Now, almost five years later, Lizzie and Jenna have spent countless hours writing in coffee shops, location scouting, shot-listing on apartment floors, and have produced a true slate of projects together that bring them both pride. Now Lizzie is co-producing this wedding!
Bridesmaid
Jenna met Kelsey in an acting class, after which she Facebook-stalked her because she needed this amazingly talented actress to do a project with her, and the rest is history. Working together on Jenna's project in which the two performed together as two best friends, they quickly found that life imitates art! Since then, it's been more and more creative projects together, buckets of support for each other, movie and pilot premieres and nights of doing nothing that couldn't be more fun. Kelsey even helped deceive Nick in Vegas so Jenna could propose! Jenna is so lucky to have this supremely compassionate, kind friend in her life, and is also honored to get to be friends with someone who will definitely be a famous actor/singer soon. Make sure to get her autograph at the wedding!
Groomsman
Nick and Dana's friendship spans the ages. After growing up together through middle school and high school, the two solidified their bond in college at Colorado School of Mines over engineering classes and video games. They've lived together in at least four different homes, and even bought a house together! Dana and his awesome wife Danielle helped send Nick and Jenna off to LA, but even with the long distance, Dana and Nick can still be spotted celebrating gaming together at Blizzcon every single year.
Groomsman
Troy and Nick met in middle school, went to high school together, and after college, started working together at the same software company. They got each other into rock climbing and have been on many adventures together ever since. Troy was the connective tissue between Jenna and Nick, and in many ways, is responsible for their whole relationship. Jenna knew Troy from the rock climbing gym but had never seen Nick before, and after hanging out with both of them at a bouldering competition, Jenna asked Troy for advice about asking Nick out. Troy said it was "a waste of time." And the rest is history.
Groomsman
Nick and Rick (lol) were next door neighbors in the dorm at Colorado School of Mines. They quickly became best friends through their many classes together and many gaming sessions (engineering and gaming are very intense bonding activities.) Now, 17 years later, with Nick living in LA and Rick living in San Diego, and both working for the same company, they are even better friends than when they were freshmen in college. They spend many weeks of the year camping, hiking, and traveling together around the world.
Groomsman
Nick, along with Dana, Troy, and Rick, all met Frankie online through gaming during college. What started out as only a digital friendship shifted when Frankie moved to Denver, the guys met him IRL (in real life), and Frankie moved in with them! Frankie went on to work with Nick and Troy, and now joins them every year at Blizzcon (which is a gaming convention-- big theme to our groomsmen/Nick) and still games with Nick all the time.
Mother of the Bride
Jenna knows that everyone says this, but she truly has the best mom around. Though leaving home and her family to move to LA felt like the hardest thing Jenna could ever do, the distance somehow only made them closer. Talking to Jenna on the phone during her two hour-long 405 commute just to keep her company, flying to LA every time Jenna and Nick move apartments or just to help hang a picture in the right spot, and above all, beaming with support and pride for every career move, life decision, or even boring story about a meeting that Jenna tells constantly, Jenna can't wait to spend this amazing day with her mother!
Father of the Bride
Jenna and her father have been inseparable since the day Jenna was born. From playing hockey out on the street, to traveling around the country together to ice hockey tournaments when Jenna was a teenager, these two can still be spotted throwing the football around together on Thanksgiving and running pass plays until both of their arms are sore. Since moving to LA, Jenna relies on her father for late night chats while she's driving (the man stays up and waits for her despite the time difference) where, through the phone, he still helps her walk safely to her car when she's parked far away in the dark, and listens while she regales him with super boring stories about her drink meetings. Jenna couldn't be more touched or overjoyed to walk down the aisle with this guy.
Mother of the Groom
Spending his early days traveling the globe with his family, Nick and his mom have been to Turkey, Egypt, England, and many many other countries together with Nick's dad and sister. Whether bonding over Dr. Mario and Tetris together, or scouring the ground for interesting rocks or fossils on hikes, Nick's awesome geologist mother has shown him the world and the literal Earth.
Father of the Groom
Having lived in England, Germany, and Colorado, Nick and his dad have also seen the whole world together. Nick and his father have adventured together all of Nick's life -- whether in playing catch and baseball, golfing, skiing, or traveling and living in many different places. Nick's dad is a pilot and an electrical engineer and enjoys flying and traveling to this day!
Flower Girl
Tied for first place for cutest person in the wedding party (see Addie), Violet, Jenna's oldest niece, is four years (five years by the wedding) of pure, solid joy. Not only are Jenna and Violet attached at the hip every time they're in the same state, they also spend many Facetime hours together. Their favorite ways to spend time together include doing puzzles, climbing at parks, watching How to Train Your Dragon, and literally anything else. This is Violet's second time being a flower girl and she takes this responsibility incredibly seriously.
Flower Girl
Also tied for first place for cutest person at the wedding (see Violet), Addie Leigh (who gets her middle name from Jenna's middle name) is Jenna's youngest niece and a bundle of happiness and humor. Jenna and Addie love to go to the zoo together, teach each other new words, and dance! This is Addie's first time being a flower girl and we know she's going to deliver.
Officiant
Jenna met Patrick at University of Denver during her sophomore year of college. Pat was a PhD student who offered a mentorship to a young idiot from the biology department who had just realized she obviously wanted to be a writer, not go to med school. Pat offered Jenna an internship on his independent literary magazine, where after a few years, Jenna grew into her role as an editor. Patrick and Jenna, alongside their good friend Adam, have been publishing kick ass fiction and poetry together ever since. After Jenna met Nick, he was quickly inducted into their magazine's little family. Patrick's a staggeringly good writer who brings his skills for precise language and quick wit into the officiating game. This is Patrick's first time officiating and the stakes have never been higher.
