things to do

The Wedding Website of Carrie Winiker and Matthew Lineham

Peekamoose Restaurant

8373 New York 28, Big Indian, NY 12410
, (845) 254-6500

This is our favorite restaurant on the planet! A bit on the fancier side, but the vibe can't be beat. Get the beet tartare as an appetizer.

Brio's

68 Main Street, Phoenicia, NY 12464
, (845) 688-5370

The best woodfire pizza around! We recommend sitting outside on the patio for people-watching. The perfect chill place with great food for a Friday night.

Phoenicia Diner

5681 New York 28, Phoenicia, NY 12464
, (845) 688-9957

Probably the most famous place to eat in the Catskills! This is a GREAT diner with an even greater view and vibe, but keep in mind there may a wait and a heavier check than your standard Jersey diner.

Dixon Roadside

261 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 684-5890

This is one of the newer restaurants in the area and we're obsessed with it. Amazing comfort food and drinks. Get the chips with cheese dip.

Garden Cafe Woodstock

6 Old Forge Road, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 679-3600

This place is a gem in the area. A fully vegan restaurant, where if we didn't tell you it was a vegan restaurant you wouldn't know and wouldn't care. Literally everything is good. Highly recommended!

Mower's Sunday Flea Market

11 Maple Lane, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 679-6744

Every Saturday and Sunday there is an outdoor flea market literally in the center of town in Woodstock! We walk through it almost every weekend. It's definitely worth a stroll on Sunday after the wedding for a taste of the local vendors. We think about vending there, but haven't yet.

Little Apple Café

21 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 684-5605

If we could get a smoothie from here every day, we would. They have the BEST juices and smoothies. They also have light lunches and snacks, so it's a good light lunch option.

Bread Alone Bakery

22 Mill Hill Road, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 679-2108

We'd say this is the Catskills' version of Starbucks. If you're looking for a good cup of coffee and breakfast in Woodstock, this is where we always go. Get the avocado toast, it's really epic.

Moonrise Bagels

68 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 684-7447

This is the newest bagel place in town. It's small, and their menu is small, but they are known for their stuffed bagels (stuffed with all kinds of things.. cheeses.. meats... savory things). It's a cool breakfast option.

Woodstock Brewing

5581 New York 28, Phoenicia, NY 12464
, (845) 688-0054

This brewery is an amazing (and popular) place right off of Rt. 28 in Phoenicia. They have indoor and outdoor tables. Every time we drive past it, it looks packed, no matter the day or time. Keep that in mind!

Station Bar & Curio

101 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 810-0203

We love this quaint, local bar in Woodstock on Tinker Street. It has a great vibe and is definitely one of the few bars we like going to.

Colony

22 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 679-7625

We really love going to Colony for drinks and music. They have a huge backyard with a million picnic tables, with live music acts playing on an outdoor stage no matter the time or day. It's a great place to get a drink and hang out with friends.

Rail Explorers: Catskills Division

70 High Street, Phoenicia, NY 12464
, (877) 833-8588

Ever ride a go-kart-type-bike on a railroad? Well we have. And it's AMAZING. Check out their website. Once you see what it is, you'll want to do it. If you do want to do this for Friday or Sunday of our wedding weekend, make sure you book a reservation in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if it's already booked up because this is a popular thing to do. It's a great way to see part of the Catskills and explore the outdoors while having a LOT of fun!

Kaaterskill Falls

NY 12436

This is the most popular hike in the Catskills. It's about 40 minutes from our venue. The great thing about Kaaterskill Falls is it has many trail options. You can walk 5 minutes into the trail and see the entire Catskill Mountain region from a high-up balcony overlooking the falls, or you an hike 20 minutes further in and see a massive waterfall. It's an easy hike, doesn't take long, and you see amazing views. Keep in mind this is THE most popular destination so parking is scarce (there is a parking lot) and you will be with other people there – it's not a quiet trail. Still, we love it and recommend it!

Giant Ledge Trailhead

Oliverea Road, Phoenicia, NY 12464

This is probably our favorite 'real' hike to do in the area. It's probably a medium in how hard it is, and it has an amazing view at the top of the 'giant ledge'. If you're looking for a real hike to do where you'll sweat, this is our favorite.

Maverick Road

54 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (917) 279-4505

There are many shops in Woodstock on Tinker Street, but this one is by far our favorite! It's owned by our friend and she curates the best stuff. Definitely stop in if you're walking around Woodstock!

Greenville Drive-In

10700 New York 32, Greenville, NY 12083
, (518) 966-2177

We go to the drive-in almost every single weekend – if you have the time, we HIGHLY recommend it. It's about 40 minutes from Woodstock! The Greenville Drive-In (also called Drive-In 32) has one screen and plays one movie. They are open Friday–Sunday and they post their calendar on their website. For this drive-in, we recommend buying your tickets in advance on their website because they sell out. They have a great snack bar and bar. We recommend getting the warm chocolate chip cookie that they deliver to your car mid-way through the movie! If you have questions, ask us –– we're drive-in experts!

Hi-Way Drive-In Theatre

Route 9W, Coxsackie, NY 12051
, (518) 731-8672

We go to the drive-in almost every single weekend – if you have the time, we HIGHLY recommend it. It's about 40 minutes from Woodstock! The Hi-Way Drive-In has four screens, so they play 4 movies. They are open 7 days a week, and they play mainly new movies, and very rarely old movies. They postt their calendar on their website. For this drive-in, you can only buy tickets at the ticket booth in person when you get there, and they really will never sell out so you'll be good as long as you get there when the place opens. They have a great snack bar. If you have questions, ask us –– we're drive-in experts!
