Bogotá is home to one of the highest-rated airports in Latin America: El Dorado International Airport. The best airports to fly out of to reach Bogotá are: San Francisco International Airport (SFO - 1 Layover), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX - 1 Layover), George Bush Intercontinental Airport (HTX - Direct), Miami International Airport (MIA - Direct), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK - Direct). Alan has flown to Bogotá primarily with American Airlines or United Airlines, but Avianca, Delta, and Copa Airlines offer routes as well! - El Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado fue decretado uno de los aeropuertos más lindos de Latinoamérica. La mejor ruta para volar para llegar a BOG es a través del Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juarez (MEX, el viejo aeropuerto) de CDMX. Richard y Alan han volado con Volaris, Aeroméxico, Avianca. For United States Citizens: You do not require a visa to travel to Colombia. Your passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. All travelers entering and/or leaving Colombia must complete a CheckMig Form to pre-register their travel with Migración Colombia. Please click the provided link and complete your form no earlier than 3 days before your flight into/out of Colombia. - Para ciudadanos mexicanos: No requieren una visa para viajar a Colombia. Sus pasaportes deben estar vigentes por un mínimo de 6 meses después de las fechas del viaje. Todos los viajeros entrando o saliendo de Colombia deben registrarse llenando el formulario CheckMig de Migración Colombia. Taxi, Uber, Didi

While Uber and Didi function within Colombia, they are technically illegal. To ride Uber or Didi, drivers may prefer that at least one passenger rides in the front passenger seat. Uber and Didi will allow you to input your Credit Card information, and should work for your rides within Colombia. It is not recommended to rent a car in Bogotá - please avoid the stress of driving in Bogotá!

Health Advisory - Avisos de Salud

According to the CDC, the Yellow Fever vaccine is not recommended if your travel is limited to cities higher than 2,300m above sea level, such as Bogotá. The vaccine is also not recommended if you travel strictly to cities like Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Cali, etc. If you plan to travel outside of these specific urban centers, please speak to your healthcare provider regarding vaccination and other health recommendations. Currently, the Colombian government is not requiring proof of COVID-19 Vaccination or PCR/Antigen Testing Results for entry. Bogotá is 2,600 meters, or 8,530 feet, above sea level. If you are coming from sea level, you may experience altitude sickness due to the drastic change in altitude. Blood pressure and respiration may also be affected. Please speak with your healthcare provider regarding your health and altitude. - Según el CDC, la vacuna de la fiebre amarilla no está recomendada si usted viajará a ciudades de mayor altura de 2,300m, como Bogotá. Tampoco está recomendada si viajará estrictamente a otras ciudades, como Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Cali, etc. Si planea viajar fuera de estos centros urbanos, por favor platique con su doctor sobre la recomendación de vacunación u otras recomendaciones de salud.
