Let's just say that dating during the pandemic in San Francisco was quite an interesting experience! Looking to lock that special someone down during a global 2020 lockdown came with ample challenges: think outdoor dates in the rain, running to Walgreens for extra covid tests, and debriefs with the roommates about whether or not you may have come within three feet of your Bumble fling. Nevertheless, here we are! We have the dating apps to thank for initially bringing us together in November 2020, although it took a solid month before worlds collided and we realized that Cody was in fact living with two of Kate's girlfriends (shout out to Allie + Allis). Kate had heard about the "random but nice, new Craigslist roommate" once or twice before, but hadn't met him yet. From date one, it just clicked. The winter turned into wine nights and homemade pasta dinners in, the holidays telling friends/family back home "well, yes I suppose there is someone...," and a camper van trip up the California Coast cooking pancakes in the woods (which was fun until our car battery died).

Three packed years passed - traveling the world, cozy nights in singing the White Lotus theme song, trying to teach Cody to say anything in Greek, reading together at Ocean Beach on the rare SF sunny days, and Kate trying to understand Cody's PhD research for the thousandth time. Cody popped the question on October 14th, 2023 in Pescadero, CA where we had our first weekend trip away together. We have loved celebrating our engagement with our incredible family and friends, and have been overwhelmed by all the love since then. We can't wait to get this party started and celebrate with you!
