Victoria and Keith are not requiring proof of vaccination to attend their wedding. They kindly ask that you act in good conscience - if you feel unwell leading up to, or on the day of the wedding, please excuse yourself or wear a mask for the entirety of your attendance.
Guidelines are changing across the world as we reacclimatize after the pandemic. To be totally safe, Victoria and Keith recommend printing or taking a screenshot of your vaccine record (if you have it) in addition to using any apps or digital storage methods.
Victoria and Keith are delighted that you are able to join them to celebrate. They recommend flying in about a week before the wedding to get over any jet lag. They want you fighting fit for the festivities! Please ensure you have the required travel authorizations in the form of a visa or ESTA (see next question). ~ Please check the vaccination or testing requirements of your airline, the United States, and New York State. Guidelines are subject to change; keep abreast of the updates on the appropriate government websites. See the "Travel" page for links to testing resources and New York State health guidelines.
If you are not a US citizen and do not hold a Green Card, you may require a travel visa, or - more likely - authorization through ESTA (the Electronic System for Travel Authorization). An ESTA is an authorization that is connected to your passport. If you already have an ESTA through prior travel to the US, please ensure it is still valid during your intended window of travel for the wedding. Please also ensure your passport is valid. For more information, please visit: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta
Having lived together for a while now, Victoria and Keith are fortunate enough to have everything material that they might need. Also, for many guests, the amount of time that has passed since they've seen you numbers in years, and your attendance at their wedding will be a gift in and of itself. If you would like to bring a gift, any financial contributions that could help Victoria and Keith start their next stage of life together will be gratefully accepted. They will provide a Wishing Well at the reception where you can place any gifts or cards you might have.
It's important to Victoria to honour her British heritage at her wedding, and one area where it can shine brightest is at the church, with guests donning traditional "Morning Dress". In traditional British weddings, the church is a formal affair, and guests dress accordingly. "Morning Dress" is a type of dress code that guests wear to this event. The morning dress outfit is worn specifically to the church, and can be changed out of depending on the dress code for the reception (listed on our "Schedule" page). 'But...what? I'm not English! A dress?!' Don't worry, we've broken down what that means and how to bring out your inner Brit in the next two questions; read on!
In traditional British weddings, the men wear a three piece suit comprised of a waistcoat, top hat, and tails to the church. For the gentlemen among us who already own a set of tails, you are more than encouraged to wear them to the church. Time to break out the irons! For all those who do not own a morning dress set, wearing a suit, tie, and weather-appropriate coat (remember, it's winter!) is also perfectly appropriate.
In traditional British weddings, the women in attendance wear dresses or skirts hemmed below the knee, and don a hat or a fascinator to cover their head while in the church. Please don't forget to bring a weather-appropriate coat or shawl to keep you warm. Hats and fascinators are an element of British wedding fashion that guests can have a really good time with! There are many affordable options available online–everywhere from Etsy to Amazon to ASOS. Victoria wants you to have fun with this part of the wedding day. She suggests googling "British wedding guest fashion" to get some ideas.
For our friends who wish to express their unique gender identity: you can adapt the dress code however best represents you. The key is to look sharp, and to be yourself. That's why we love you.
We recommend Ubering to and from our ceremony. Transport to and from the reception will be provided - see our "Schedule" page for shuttle times.
There will be about two hours between our ceremony and the beginning of our reception. After you leave the church at 3pm, you will have time to go back to the Hyatt Regency to freshen up and change into your finery for dinner! Shuttles from the hotel start at 4:30pm to take you to the venue.
Our reception is black tie optional. Glam it up! Tuxedos, suit and bow tie, suit and tie, or dinner jackets. Evening gowns - floor length. No cocktail attire.
To buy subway tickets in Manhattan, you simply use the self-serve kiosks at each station. To buy tickets for the Long Island Railroad, Victoria and Keith recommend downloading "MTA TrainTime" from the app store. You can buy and display your tickets all on the app.
Victoria and Keith recommend downloading the "MTA TrainTime" app from the app store. They use it daily to look at train schedules when commuting in and out of the city. Once downloaded, be sure to select "LIRR" as your train line. This app allows you to select your origin and destination stations (for example: Bay Shore to Penn Station), and will show you all available train times.
The subways in Manhattan run often enough (every few minutes) that a schedule isn't necessary. Pop down into any subway station in the city, and a train won't be more than a few minutes away! Many stations now have digital displays with the estimated arrival time of the next train.
Traveling east and west (to and from the city) is best done on the Long Island Railroad. Navigating the body of Long Island is best done by car. If you plan on exploring Long Island in the latter half of the week, Victoria and Keith recommend renting a car for a couple of days. There are a large number of car rental spots on Long Island, but if you choose to begin your week in Manhattan, car rental locations are also plentiful there (many of which will have an option for airport drop off when you fly out of New York.)
If you intend to make a holiday out of the wedding week, Victoria and Keith highly recommend staying in the city for a few days before coming out to Long Island for the wedding. If you would like to explore Long Island in the latter half of the week, Victoria and Keith have ensured hotel rooms will be available from Wednesday evening onwards at the Hyatt Regency.
If your invitation states "and guest", identifying that you have been given a plus one, then of course! If your invitation does not say this, we'd prefer to have you all to ourselves.
All guests, including children, will be listed by name on the invitation (as well as when you RSVP using our tab above). We kindly ask that you only bring those who are listed.
