Beautiful center to learn about all the Alaska Native tribes, Nick's family is Yupik!
Matanuska Glacier
Nick and Nicky went here for their second date. It's where she made the decision to extend her stay in Alaska for Nick. It is gorgeous and you can totally hike onto it! There are guided tours onto the ice to onto the glacier itself.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
This place is awesome! You can see moose, muskox, bears, oh my! The drive down here is beautiful and glaciers are near by!
Alaska SeaLife Center
Adorable marine animals in Seward. Who doesn't love puffins and otters?!
Tony Knowles Coastal Trail
Our first date, went for a bike ride in the beautiful fall colors and the rest is history!
Eklutna Lake
Gorgeous lake with a ton of different hikes in the area
Portage Glacier
Tours of the glacier available. Near Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and winner creek trail. A 4.2 mile out and back hiking trail, portage pass trail, takes you up close to the glacier.
Winner Creek Trail
Super beautiful hike in Girdwood. They have a hand tram to pull yourself across the gorge, really cool!
Denali National Park and Preserve
If you want to take a longer drive, Denali is about 4 hours from the property. You can continue onto Fairbanks to see the North Pole, Ice Museum and Chena Hot Springs. First trip Nick took with Nicky's parents.
Katmai National Park and Preserve
This is if you are staying longer. The coolest thing Nicky has ever done in Alaska! Grizzly bears just a few feet away, you won't forget it! Does require taking a float plane and is very pricey. This is where the national geographic pictures are taken of Grizzlies catching salmon.
Chilkoot Charlie's
This is where Nick and Nicky met over giant jenga. Cool dive bar with 9 different bars in one. Usually has a live band in one or two rooms.

Best soft pretzels in Alaska! Great selection of beer.
Palmer City Alehouse
Great restaurant in Palmer with the best bloody marys Nick and Nicky have ever had! Fun outdoor concerts every Friday and Saturday night during the summer months.

A nice place for lunch located in Palmer.

Great seafood and traditional Alaskan food, fun atmosphere and live bands.

Flattop Mountain
Great hiking trails and amazing view of Anchorage.
Lazy Mountain Trail Head
There are two trail-heads: Lazy Mountain, which is very steep and quick hike; and Lazy Moose, which side-winds up the mountain at a gradual pace. Great view of the Palmer area! See if you can spot our property from the peak at 2,700 ft.
Hatcher Pass
Great scenic drive with an abandoned gold mine, Independence Mine, at the top. Think Scottish highlands with rivers and waterfalls along the way. Amazing photo spots!
Cooper Landing
Great area for salmon fishing about 1.5 hour south of anchorage on the Russian and Kenai rivers. Beautiful to camp or take a scenic drive. Lots of fishing tours and rental places. Mid-Late July will be the end of the sockeye (red) and beginning of the coho (silver) salmon runs. Fun fact that Nicky only learned when she moved to Alaska, there are five species of salmon!
Homer
One of our favorite Alaskan cities about 5 hours south of Anchorage. Lots to do here. Best place to get halibut fishing charters, the take off point for katmai national park to see the bears if you are doing a day trip by boat or plane, great boardwalk (called the homer spit) with great seafood restaurants and cute shops. Take a water taxi across to Kachemak bay where you can go clam digging, kayaking, hike to a glacier, or go on a Sealife boat tour. Bear Creek Winery is one of our favs!
Reindeer Farm
Adorable farm if you want to see some reindeer up close. About a 15 minute drive from our property.
The Musk Ox Farm - Masks Required
Beautiful animals only found near the arctic circle. Nicky loves them!
