FAQs

If you have any questions other than the ones listed below, please text Melanie Bernard, the mother of the groom, at (951) 795-3524.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As soon as you can and no later than April 19th, 2022. Tap the "RSVP" button on the top of this page, type in your name, and let us know what events you'll be at! We will need an official head-count 45 days before June 3rd.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! We have registries through Zola, Amazon, and Target. We also have a few cash funds set up to go towards things like our honeymoon and our first puppy. Tap on the "Registry" button at the top of this page to take a look.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is going to start right at 4:00pm. Plan to arrive by 3:30pm to allow time for parking and finding your seat. If you are late, you will not be permitted to enter until after the processional.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, but that doesn’t mean you need to spend hundreds on a new outfit if you’re unable. We’re telling everyone the attire is black tie, and it is! But if you can’t, just wear your best. When was the last time you got to dress up for something fancy, anyways? Kinda fun!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

To the ceremony? Yes! Our ceremony is going to be at Court Street United Methodist in Downtown Lynchburg on June 3rd. If you’re in-town and would like to celebrate with us, you’re more than welcome to attend and bring your date. Just let us know you’re coming. Our reception is at another location a couple hours later. Because we’re serving dinner and paying for our reception per attendee, we unfortunately cannot allow for any unaccounted for plus-ones. Only those that received an invitation to both the ceremony AND reception will be allowed to attend the reception. Your invitation will specify how many guests are invited from your group.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

The short answer is no. There are exceptions, but pretty much only for family members. Your invitation will specify how many guests from your family or group are invited.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Tap the "Travel & Accommodations" button on the top of this page to see all information pertaining to the hotel rooms we reserved for our guests at a discounted rate.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony? What about from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. But many of our guests either live in Lynchburg or will be driving in from a few hours away. Our recommendation is to ask other wedding guests from your hotel if there’s room in their cars or you can utilize Uber & Lyft to get where you need to go.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony is at Court Street United Methodist in Downtown Lynchburg at 4:00pm on June 3rd, 2022. The locations and times of the rehearsal dinner and reception will be communicated through the official invitations and RSVP link on the top of this page. These three events are the only official gatherings. If you have free time and want to know what you should do, tap the "Things to Do" button on the top of this page for our recommendations.

Question

Will you be serving alcohol?

Answer

No. We did a cost-to-benefit analysis and it just doesn’t make sense. For the few guests that wish we were serving alcohol, our venues will not allow you to bring your own but we’re not telling you that you can’t pregame. Don’t be dumb though.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There are two designated parking lots for our guests at Court Street United Methodist. If those fill up, you will either need to find street parking or utilize another public parking lot in Downtown Lynchburg. Fortunately, downtown LYH is not very large and there are several parking lots within walking-distance to the church. There will be plenty of parking spots at the reception venue with people directing you exactly where to go.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes and no. If you're vegetarian or have something like a gluten intolerance, accommodations can me made if you let us know by April 19th, 2022. If your food allergy is life-threatening, we kindly ask that you bring your own food. There is only one kitchen where food is prepared for our reception and we cannot guarantee that it will be completely peanut or gluten-free. We would like to avoid ambulance rides and hospital visits.
