Maid of Honor
It’s appropriate that Erin is Kayla’s maid of honor, because one of the first things they did together was a project for a wedding. Since then, they have shared a bunk bed, learned to dance (or tried), run a Kickstarter campaign and small business, been on TV, traveled to Africa, and lots of other random things that left them shaking their heads and saying “how did we get ourselves into this?!” Besides all this, Erin is an amazing woman of God who speaks truth into Kayla’s life with consistency, grace, and love. Kayla hopes she can grow up to be just like her! Fun fact: Erin and Kayla have a hashtag! #bigbudlilbud
Seyi Olagunju
Best Man
Seyi is the closest thing Tosin has to a brother. In addition to being his best man, he is also Tosin’s brother in-law, married to his younger sister (Ronke). Close friends since 1996, Seyi and Tosin share many great childhood memories; he has been an integral part of Tosin's life through each changing season. Over the years he has grown to be a great man of faith, a minister, a father, and a great networker with a knack for bringing people together. Seyi is a go-to for spiritual advice, and also someone with whom Tosin can bounce random ideas around. He has and continues to have a great impact on the friends, family, and community.

Em and Kayla have known each other since childhood, but it wasn’t until the awkward teenage years that they became best friends — partly because they desperately needed friends, and partly because they actually liked each other. Favorite pastimes have included: writing poetry about strangers on napkins at coffeeshops, mailing said poetry to randomly selected phonebook addresses, backpacking through Europe, and turning walls into murals. Em remains both a creative and spiritual partner: someone Kayla always knows she can turn to for a word of wisdom, humor, inspiration, or encouragement. Fun fact: Em and Kayla’s birthdays are six days apart!
Ezechi Wachuku

Ever since they first met in college, Ezechi has been breath of fresh air and source of inspiration for Tosin. He is also a go-to for sharing ideas and just reflecting on life in general. Tosin enjoys getting to spend time with him, his wife Ayo, and their young family. Favorite pastimes are sharing a home cooked meal, pitching in on a gardening project in the backyard, or throwing a jam session or bonfire with friends.
Ingrid Berrios

When Kayla first moved to Oakland in 2010, she didn’t know anyone. She prayed for a friend, and the next day she met Ingrid. A month later they got an apartment together in Uptown and the rest is history. For a while church friends referred to them as “Kaylingrid” since they were so often seen together. Kayla’s favorite things about Ingrid are: her infectious laughter, honesty, strength in the Lord, down-to-earth “farm girl” attitude about life, willingness to ask hard questions, and unquenchable curiosity about others. Fun fact: Ingrid will only be able to attend the wedding “in spirit,” as she will be busy having a baby. Yayyy, congrats Ingrid!
Nnamdi Iwuagwu

Tosin and Nnamdi have been friends since college, and have grown together from years spent playing basketball in the park during SJSU, lazy summers playing video games, football, or just hanging out. Their friendship has seen the test of time, and now Nnamdi is entering into a similar new chapter in his life with his bride-to-be. Tosin is very proud and honored to celebrate this life milestone with him.
Debra Taron

Debra is Kayla’s sister, two years younger. Growing up, they loved to draw imaginary characters and play make-believe. Debra is one of Kayla’s favorite people in the world! She meets life’s challenges with optimism, courage, and a deep faith in her Savior. She’s also an incredible craftswoman: she can sew, do woodwork, spin wool, set up a tent in the dark, start a fire without cheating, bake bread, brew kombucha… not to mention, she’s a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, so she knows her way around a sword. Basically — if the zombie apocalypse happens, she’s the woman you want to know!! Fun fact: Kayla calls Debra “Dubie,” and Debra calls Kayla “Beezo!”
Soji Sájuyìgbé

Friends since college years, Soji and Tosin have stayed remained close friends ever since. Together they survived the broke college years—and the not so broke years. Soji could also be known as Dr. Soj, because with him you can tackle subject matter from artificial intelligence to the best routines to get your shoulder / knee tendons back in good health. Many hours were spent in deep thought about God, life, human existence... and many hours were spent in not-so-deep contemplation, about important topics like how amazing granola can be.

Growing up, the Tarons referred to the younger girls as “Kayla and the Little Girls.” Becca is the middle of three of the so-called Little Girls, but she has always been anything but little. Full of energy, she was a tree-climbing, bike-riding, blonde haired, multi-talented, force of life with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Now, at only 27 years old, she is an elementary school teacher, wife, and mom of three beautiful girls; still living life to the fullest and several steps ahead of her peers. Kayla loves Becca’s confidence, sass, big brains, integrity, and unbreakably deep love for her family. She is not only a sister, but the truest of friends. Fun fact: Becca makes a mean mojito!
Robbie Boronda

Tosin and Rob met through Campus Crusade at SJSU. Rob was instrumental in getting Tosin to move into the "guys" house at SJSU and they have been friends ever since. Through good and bad times, there have been many great memories, snowboarding trips, outings, life musings, and shared adventures. Now Rob is a husband, and father of two with another on the way. Tosin is glad that Rob can be a part of this very important moment of his life.
Lydia Dahl

Lydia is the youngest of Kayla’s sisters. Whenever Kayla and Lyd are together, they love to giggle about silly things, have heart-to-hearts, compliment each other, and hug for such long periods of time it makes bystanders uncomfortable. Lyd is a graphic designer, amazing artist, and lives in the SoCal desert with her awesome husband Andrew. Lyd and Kayla have a dream of someday combining their creative forces and making a kids book together! Fun fact: Lyd and Andrew have a chinchilla named Timmy and a kitty named Buzz. Buzz can ride in a backpack!
Tayo Akanni

Tayo is Tosin's family, and a friend for many years. Together they've explored new hobbies and had lots of adventures. He is a always up for new experiences or fun events: rock climbing at Dog Patch or Mission Cliffs, brunches in San Francisco on summer Saturdays, trips to Oregon and Vancouver... Tosin loves getting to share life with him. He's very grateful to have family like this in his life.
