For out-of-towners: here's our suggestions of a few fun places to explore in the neighborhood. We haven't blocked out any hotels, but please feel free to reach out if you need help finding a place to stay. (We can also tell you where NOT to stay, haha)

Lake Merritt

Oakland, CA

Bring some walking shoes, and take a stroll around beautiful Lake Merritt! It's 3.17 miles total, and takes about an hour. Lake Merritt is a bird sanctuary, so bring your bird-watching know how.... and watch out for the bird poo!
