Really cool beach town in Southern Belize, and on the way back up from PG. There are a ton of options to pick and choose from here for accommodations. Placencia is pretty mellow and laid back. Great for snorkeling, diving, fishing and relaxing on the beach. Great options for restaurants, nightlife etc. Placencia is a quick 15 minute plane ride north from Punta Gorda. Tom and Katie are planning on going here for a few days after the wedding!
Up north by the border of Mexico, Ambergris Caye is a peninsula that is easily accessed with Tropic Air. Flights from Belize City are right around 15 minutes, or you can choose to take a water taxi as well. San Pedro which is the town on Ambergris Caye is definitely the most developed and bustling area of the country with tons of options for accommodations, restaurants, nightlife and activities. Great place for snorkeling, diving, fishing, cruising around the busy town in golf carts and having lots of options to pick and choose from. Popular place to access Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley for snorkeling and diving!
Island off the main land that is very laid back and fun, kind of a smaller version of San Pedro. Tons of options for resorts, hotels, AirBnB's etc. A couple of good restaurants, bars and fun place to hang out each evening. Definitely some good snorkeling, diving, fishing and fun place to relax and hang out for a couple of days. Another great place to access Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley for snorkeling and diving.
Another great option for guests looking for a laid back experience, probably one of the lesser visited areas of Belize. Quite a few options for accommodations, from resorts all the way to more simple AirBnB's. Good beaches, snorkeling and other activities available. A few great restaurants and bars to pick and choose from.
