Grand Bear Resort at Starved Rock

Grandbear Resort has several styles for stays, from their larger cabins and villas to standard hotel rooms. You must CALL to get the group rates; let them know you are with the Spohnholtz/Peradotti Block #10642. There are multiple rooms reserved, from the family suite with two queen beds to the kid bunk suite with a queen bed and bunk beds! The cabins and villas are individual townhomes and condos for families and groups to reserve a primary living space and multiple rooms. The two-night minimum has been waived within our block; come one night or stay the whole weekend!

Grandbear Resort: Waterpark, Hiking, and More!

Grandbear is located right across from Starved Rock State Park and not far from Matthiessen State Park, which provides great opportunities for hikes. The Crismore family will find it reminds them of McCormick's Creek State Park in Indiana where they have their family reunions. Grandbear itself has an indoor waterpark and mini-golf included with your stay! You can find an attached restaurant on the property, Jack’s Place, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; they also have a full bar! Honey Pot Sweets is also another spot for a quick snack and pick me up! See Grandbear's website for reference images and more details. Additionally, the Spohnholtz family has a cabin booked for “Wedding Central,” where you can find snacks, drinks, and good company!

Please note that ridesharing services are available but very limited in this area. It is recommended that you utilize transportation provided by the hosts through the Starved Rock Trolley or plan to have a Designated Driver or another ride.
