Flight

Reno-Tahoe International Airport

For those of you flying from all around the world, this is the airport you want to fly into! It is the closest airport to Lake Tahoe. If you are flying in, we do recommend a rental car since the airport is 1 hour away from South Lake Tahoe (where all the wedding festivities will be). For those of you who don't want to rent a car, there is a shuttle service you can take. Please refer to the 'Shuttle' section on this page for more information about the shuttle. Once you get to South Lake Tahoe, everything is in very close proximity and you could definitely get away with ubering. For those of you traveling from anywhere in California--feel free to drive! It's not a bad drive. Rand and I do it every year. If you are coming from San Diego, it is a 10 hour drive. We do recommend taking a break along the way. You can always check out the many places to see in California. If you don't want to plan on taking a break during the drive, we have done that too! We would recommend leaving early or timing it so you don't reach LA around rush hour.

Airbnb

South Lake Tahoe has some stunning airbnb options but you will need to book this far in advance! When you are doing your search, put in South Lake Tahoe (not just Lake Tahoe). Also, try and narrow your search near Edgewood. Don't forget to look on the Nevada side for airbnb options! Edgewood is located on the Stateline of CA and NV. Either state will work as far as lodging! This will be a popular option for those of you traveling with your whole family and want a place where you all can be together. Also, for groups of friends traveling in who want to spend more time together. Feel free to send me links to airbnb locations if you want confirmation before booking.

Flight

Sacramento International Airport (SMF)

This is another airport option you could fly into. It is 2 hours from South Lake Tahoe vs. 1 hour (Reno airport). I would definitely recommend renting a car if you decide on flying into Sacramento. *For those of you flying from Atlanta, there is a direct flight from Atlanta to Sacramento. There is no direct flight from Atlanta to Reno. You can compare flying into Reno vs. Sacramento and see what option works best. If you fly into Reno, you could get away without getting a rental car if you took the shuttle. However, if you fly into Sacramento, you would definitely need a rental car.
