Dom is not only Mike’s brother, but he was also his roommate when Mike and Kristina first met. From those early days through the present, Dom has been a constant in their relationship as they continue to grow. There is no other person they could imagine playing the role of Wedding Officiant.
Alexandra Lopez Low
Matron of Honor
Kristina and Ali have been friends since middle school when they met at a basketball camp. They instantly connected, and their friendship has grown and flourished over the many, many years they have spent together. From Salinas High to UCSB to living in Santa Barbara together and now being long-distance friends, Ali has been there through it all and it is only fitting to have her as the matron of honor for this very special day.
Will Casanueva
Co-Best Man
Will and Mike met playing basketball in - you guessed it - high school! Since then they have enjoyed many concerts together, taken spontaneous trips, they’ve even been work colleagues. These days Will is working at Alisal Ranch and living in Santa Barbara with his girlfriend, Sarah.
Samantha Kruger
Bridesmaid
Samantha (Sammi or Sam) and Kristina met at UCSB when they found themselves in the same sorority and the same major. They became roommates in the second year of college and then lived together for the next five years. From their late teens into their early 30s, Sammi has been a constant in Kristina's life and there simply could not be a wedding without her by Kristina's side.
Nick Rettie
Co-Best Man
Nick and Mike met in high school Spanish class, however, it was in the years following that they would grow such a strong connection, sharing countless nights of conversation in Nick’s backyard. In 2014 Nick moved to the DC area where he met his eventual wife, Jen. Nick and Jen now live in Richmond, Virginia with their daughter Charlotte and their dog Brody.
Chelsea Meade (Chelew)
Bridesmaid
Chelsea and Kristina met at UCSB. They lived together on Del Playa Drive during their senior year of college and then lived together in downtown Santa Barbara for years after graduating. Chelsea has been an absolute constant in Kristina's life, providing friendships and many hours of free therapy (Chelsea is a Marriage and Family Therapist). Chelsea and Kristina have continued to be close despite Chelsea living out in Ohio with her husband, Matt, and their soon-to-be daughter!
Marcus Morosin
Co-Best Man
Marcus and Mike met freshman year of high school and quickly bonded over their mutual love for music and sports. Over the past two decades, they’ve been on many trips, including three Eagles games where they have never witnessed a loss in person together (Go Birds!). In 2023 Marcus, his wife Heather, and their dog Nori made the cross-country move to Charlotte, North Carolina where they live today.
Jim Hlavacek
Father of the Bride
Jim (AKA Billy) has been an amazing, loving father to Kristina and her sisters. He is an absolute world traveler and his passion for exploration is unparalleled. Mike and Kristina have bonded over both their own individual travels and the travels they have gotten to experience together. Jim is always looking forward to the next adventure which inspires Mike and Kristina! Jim is a semi-retired anesthesiologist who loves to golf!
Debbie McQuade
Mother of the Groom
Debbie raised Mike as a single mother and always dreamed she would see the day her youngest would find the girl of his dreams. Well, Momma - that day has arrived! Debbie lives in Santa Barbara where she managed a hospice for 20+ years and now runs a drop-in center for people experiencing homelessness.
Monica Hlavacek
Mother of the Bride
Monica (AKA Dune) is a fearless, determined, and loving woman. She has taught Kristina the importance of standing up for yourself, nurturing those around you, and, how to cook a multi-course meal for those you love (something Mike surely appreciates). Monica is a retired dentist and enjoys spending time in her garden and traveling the world with Jim!
