Kristina grew up in Salinas from the time she was about four years old. This piece of California is gorgeous and unspoiled. Mike and Kristina have spent a fair amount of time here throughout their relationship and Mike has fallen for the Central Coast just as Kristina had many years before. We wanted to share this area with all of our loved ones and it was special to be taking this big step in an area with so many memories and special people. One of the constants in Kristina's life has always been the Silacci family, the owners of Rustique Winery. The Silaccis and the Hlavaceks spent numerous holidays together over the years and the two families are strongly bonded. Rustique is so-called in honor of Rusti Silacci, a woman of great love, beauty, and warmth. Rusti was a wonderful person who always made you feel loved and like you were part of the family. While Rusti is not able to be at our wedding physically, her spirit lives on in so many ways but it is especially felt here at the ranch.
We are getting married at Rustique Wines in Salinas Valley, CA. This ranch is approximately a 30-45 drive from the Monterey/Carmel area. We will be providing a shuttle for guests that will pick up from and return to the Hilton Garden Inn in Monterey. The shuttle with pick up all guests at approximately 3:15 PM and there will be two return shuttles: 10 PM and 10:30 PM. There is ample available parking at Rustique if you would prefer to drive yourself, however, we encourage the use of the shuttle as the roads can be windy and we want you to be able to enjoy yourselves at the wedding! NOTE: please do NOT rely on Uber/Lyft for transportation to and from the venue.
There are many, many hotels to choose from in the Monterey/Carmel area. We do not have a hotel block, however, some recommended hotels can be found on the Travel page of the website. There are also hotel options in Salinas that are closer to the venue. Salinas also has a newly updated downtown area with some great restaurants. There is more to do in Monterey and Carmel and most of our guests will be staying in that area. Please contact Mike or Kristina if you are having difficulty finding a place to stay that meets your needs and desires!
We’re excited to celebrate with you in style! The dress code is cocktail party attire. For the gents, we kindly ask you to wear slacks and jackets. For the gals, we encourage you to wear your favorite dresses—think of late-spring colors and fun patterns that make you feel fabulous! We can’t wait to see everyone looking their best as we celebrate our special day! While October is a beautiful time of year out at the ranch, we would recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket to have for the evening hours.
