Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the ceremony is Black Tie Optional. For the ceremony, as it will be outside, feel free to wear more comfortable shoes and be sure to bring outerwear (jackets, overcoats, etc.) as it will be windy and chilly. For the reception, below the knee, mid-length dresses are acceptable, floor length gowns or formal jumpsuits are encouraged. Dark colored suits with a tie are acceptable, tuxedos are encouraged.

Question

How are we getting to the cermony?

Answer

Guests will drive, in their rented cars, from Umi Hotel, to Dyrholaey Cliff, which is about a 20-30 minute drive. From there, guests will be transported up and back down the cliff in a superjeep.

Question

How are we getting to the reception?

Answer

Following the ceremony, guests will drive in their rented cars back to Reykjavik for the reception that will tentatively start at 8 pm. Guests are encouraged to utilize the time between the ceremony and reception to see some sights on the way back to Reykjavik!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Weather conditions in Iceland can vary from hour to hour. However, this time of year it is typically in the mid 40's and windy. Please pack accordingly to stay warm!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Our entire registry can be found here on our wedding website.

Question

What is the best way to find tickets to Iceland?

Answer

There are a number of ways we would recommend searching for tickets. First, and our personal favorite, would be to sign up for Scott's Cheap Flights. You can sign up for free (or pay the $40 annual fee) and personalize your trips to specify Iceland. The group will send flights from your selected departure airports whenever they find good deals! The next would be to use google flights. The airports with the most frequent (and well priced) flights to Reykjavik are all of the NYC-area airports, Boston-Logan, Chicago, and Washington D.C. You can search either directly from your home departure airport, or choose to book through a multi-city itinerary/multiple bookings. Please feel free to ask us any questions!

Question

Is the hotel(s) already reserved?

Answer

Hotel Umi has been blocked off for Friday, April 22, 2022. Guests will be able to pay for their stay upon checkout. The price per night will be approximately $150 USD. You will not need to call the hotel to book a room- rooms will be preassigned to you/your party and given to you once you arrive at the hotel. A hotel block has been placed at Hotel Centrum in Reykjavík for the night of April 23, 2022. The price per night is approximately $150 USD.
