Much to our future children's disdain, we do not have a charming-but-laughable story to tell about how we met. We are Tinder's poster child. We beat the online dating odds and found our other halves. As many of you already know, on our first date, we discussed our interests and traveling was one of the big topics of discussion. Iceland was the first on both of our lists of places we wanted to visit. Some months later, still early in the relationship, we started to plan a trip to Iceland that never came to fruition due to someone's cold feet (cough cough...Jennifer). Over the 3 years of memories later, we have traveled to eight countries together, introduced two dogs to our family, and are now planning our wedding in the place that started it all!
Although Jacob had planned to propose in Iceland, the pandemic fortunately did not halt our travel bug and we were able to travel to Washington in September. After a leisurely morning in a cabin in northern Washington near the Canadian border, we headed to North Cascades National Park for an afternoon of hiking and sightseeing. We then drove to a beautiful viewing point of Diablo Lake where Jacob asked the all-important question. Tears were shed, a beautiful moment was shared overlooking the crystalline lake, and Jennifer said yes!
