Travel Note
We are so excited to celebrate the weekend with you all and did our very best to make the weekend as cheap as possible for all of you. That being said, because of the Annapolis Boat Show that weekend (discussed below) and because Kent Island has limited hotel options, hotels are a bit more expensive on the weekend of our wedding. There are some AirBnB/Vrbo options that are slightly cheaper, but please remember that the Annapolis event could cause two+ hours of additional traffic on the bridge to Kent Island. We would be happy to discuss other options with you if you are interested, but please be aware that booking hotels early with our blocks is imperative to ensure the prices that we have secured! -- As an FYI - our wedding weekend happens to fall on Annapolis Boat Weekend, which is a huge bi-yearly event, making prices/travel a little more difficult around Kent Island. Kent Island is located near Annapolis, just across the large Bay Bridge - however, the only way to get from the mainland onto the island is by crossing the Bay Bridge. The event will make crossing the Bay Bridge much more difficult with traffic, so please consider this if you opt to not stay at one of our blocked hotels on the island. If you do opt to go the AirBnB/Vrbo route, please keep in mind that anything in Annapolis or anything on the west side of the Bay Bridge could add about one to two hours to your commute into Kent Island that weekend. To the best of your ability, please try to stay on the east side of the Bay Bridge instead of the mainland/Annapolis side. There are plenty of Ubers/Lyfts around, but keep in mind the demand for that weekend will be high as well. If you have any questions or want some additional recommendations, we would be happy to help - please reach out any time!
Flight
Although you could fly into either DC airport (IAD or DCA), we highly recommend catching a flight to BWI for those who are out-of-towners. BWI is a 30-45 minute drive from Annapolis and Kent Island, while DCA/IAD can be between 1-1.5 hours. BWI is also a Southwest hub, which makes it somewhat cheaper than the other airports!
Hotel
The Hyatt is a great hotel option right on Kent Narrows, and offers beautiful views right on the water. We will be hosting the after wedding brunch at the Hyatt's veranda the morning of October 13. The shuttles will be picking up from this location during the wedding weekend. Unfortunately, our wedding block has already filled for this hotel, but there are still rooms available off the website directly. There are cheaper deals per night if you decide to come in for the wedding Thursday-Sunday (3 nights), but the Friday/Saturday 2-night rate is high. There are also discounts for AAA, AARP, Seniors, and Government/Military rates!
Hotel
The Hilton Garden Inn is located on Kent Island, and is a good option for those who want to be close to the venue and stay on the island. It has a central location on the island and is very close to the water, making it more expensive per night. The shuttles will be picking up from the Hyatt throughout the weekend, but this is a quick walk away! Hotel
For those looking for a cheaper option on Kent Island, look no further than the Best Western! The Best Western is right across the street from the other hotels (100-yard walk) and nearby all the Kent Narrows marinas and restaurants. Although the shuttle will not be picking up from this hotel specifically, it is very easy to get over to the Hyatt for the shuttle pick-up. The hotel has offered us 20% off per night with the discount code below, or through the booking link. You can also call the hotel and ask for the wedding rate for "The Carpenter Wedding."

House Or Rental
There are a few options available on AirBnB and VRBO for Kent Island, so feel free to go this route if you choose to do so! The prices are a bit cheaper per night, but there are limited homes available on both sites. As noted above, we recommend that if you do choose to do AirBnB or VRBO that you stay on the east side of the Bay Bridge so you avoid the Boat Show traffic that weekend (avoid Annapolis, if you can!).
