Although Dan and Anna both attended Rice University at the same time, they never crossed paths (which is always amazing at a school like Rice because they were both social and ran in similar circles). It wouldn't be until years later, when the world shut down, that their lives would come together. As Houston began to close due to COVID, Anna was incredibly busy working for the local public health department and needed a break from the chaos that was the workplace - so she turned to Hinge for some entertainment. Simultaneously, Dan was upset that the bars were closing and needed something to distract him - so he also downloaded Hinge. Within 2 weeks, Dan and Anna had matched on Hinge because they both figured "well, they went to Rice, how bad could they be?" However, because Anna was a healthcare worker in the craziest time to be one, she placed great importance on Dan quarantining before their first date. Dan promised that he would quarantine for 2 weeks before they met in person. He did not. Since their first date in Dan's apartment, Dan and Anna's relationship has been a lifetime of excitement in a few short years. From growing their relationship together in Houston, to spending countless weekends at the Carpenter ranch, to Dan becoming Oakley's stepdad, to watching the Astros lose in the ALCS, lose the WS, win the WS, and lose in the ALCS, to many worldly adventures (including Munich's Oktoberfest and the Women's World Cup in New Zealand), to frequent domestic travel to visit beloved family and friends, to moving from red Texas to blue DC (thanks again for the tasers and pepper spray, John), and to the sunset proposal at the Klineberg's Virginian beach house, they cannot wait to continue their busy lives alongside one another. We are so excited to celebrate with all of you on our wedding day!
