For those that cannot wait to begin the celebrations, The Brown’s will be at The Spring House before the formal welcome bonfire/dinner, relaxing and enjoying the view. The beautiful hotel has adirondack chairs on the lawn overlooking the ocean and has live music starting at 5:30. If you plan to join, we will have a short walk to the next destination for the beach bonfire. This will require a taxi ride from the hotel. All taxi’s are cash only. Here are a few taxi’s on island: Harbor Taxi - 401-500-6726, Cannonball Taxi - 401-777-TAXI, Clark’s Cab - 401-466-5839.

Wedding Ceremony and Celebration

We are beyond excited for The Brown and McGrath family to become one! Cocktail attire. Suits (linen ok), tie not necessary if it ain’t your thang. The ceremony will be on a grassy hill and the reception on crushed shells, so please plan accordingly with footwear. It will be outside, so you may want to bring shawls/jackets as it can get cool on the water once the sun goes down. Hors d’oeuvres will be served to begin the evening with a buffet style dinner to follow which will include salad, steak, mahi mahi taco bar, chicken and sides. We will have an acoustic singer playing music for the reception, so bring your dancing shoes.

For those who want to keep the partying going, feel free to come directly from the reception or change into something more comfortable if you choose. The National is directly across the street from the hotel and has a great patio with gas fire pits and live music. Unfortunately, there is no event space available, so this will be very informal, but they said there there shouldn’t be a problem accommodating us.

Family Beach Day

Located on the beach below The Block Island Beach house. We will have lunch catered from The Lunch Box and a cooler with some beer and wine, but feel free to bring whatever you’d like to drink. Please be discrete when bringing booze as this beach is a part of the hotel. There is a path to access the beach if you walk through the parking lot behind the main hotel entrance for those not staying at the hotel. Red Bird Liquor Store is a short walk from the hotel. We plan to reserve some chairs from for our party and a few umbrellas for those that prefer shade. We will have cornhole, bocci ball, polish horseshoes, and paddleball for some friendly beach competition.

Join us back at Ballard’s for one last casual hurrah before everyone departs. For connivence, it is very close to the ferry. Below are the ferry departure times for those joining: Traditional Ferry Departs at 11am/1pm (55 minutes) and the High Ferry Departs at 11:30am/1:30pm (30 minutes).
