Our Story We officially met during our undergraduate years at the University of Missouri. Fun fact: After meeting in college, we realized we had not only gone to the same elementary school but were even in the same fourth-grade class! While we both claim not to remember each other, some say Sami is just saying that to save face. Whether he actually remembers Daniela or not, fate found a way to bring us back together in the end. During our time at Mizzou, we instantly clicked and quickly became close friends. We spent the summer of 2018 inseparable, growing our friendship and discovering a connection we couldn’t deny. By Thanksgiving, we made things official—and we’ve been together ever since. The Proposal Sami proposed during a trip to New York City in November of 2024. What Daniela thought was a casual stroll through Central Park turned into the biggest surprise of her life. After stopping by a peaceful pond, an NYU “photography student” offered to take our picture for a class project. At that moment, Sami got down on one knee. Daniela was completely shocked—especially since she had been talking about engagements and rings the entire trip, having no idea that her own proposal was just moments away! The celebration continued with a carriage ride through the park and plenty of champagne, followed by a celebration with Sami’s family. When we returned home, Sami had one final surprise waiting: a party with all our friends to top off an unforgettable weekend. Today Today, we call Kansas City home, where we’ve been building our life together for the past four years. We share our home with our two beloved cats, Chorizo and Salchicha, and spend our days cooking together, cozying up on the couch for TV marathons, and going on sushi dates. We are so excited to celebrate our love with the people who mean the most to us and can’t wait to start this next chapter as husband and wife!
