Yes. This weekend is meant to be an open invitation (literally on the mall) and will have everyone participating in some way shape or form. We're not head counting for food (ish), so when things run out that's it!
NO! We prefer cards, and your presence however that looks (virtual or in-person). We will have also a way for you to help out during the weekend if you want -- it takes a village!
Dress as you want! There will be lots of walking around, outdoor activities, and games so wear proper shoes/bring the attires. Bring socks if you want to skate!
Katie's grandparents were married on this day, and also.. it's the Spring Equinox. The changing of the seasons from winter to spring come with new blooms of life, longer days of sunshine, and for everyone a shift and change. It's symbolic of the journey of life, and also Katie was born on the autumnal equinox (when her grandfather Hamann passed) and also her grandmother Hamann passed on the winter solstice. Changing of the seasons are core to showing the world that change is constant, and we continue the cycle of life.
We plan to host people all weekend in various ways, and what's important to us is spending time with YOU so there's not realllllly a typical reception, just some parties you can join in on if you want :-)
Of course! We love kiddos. Do note that there will be plenty of room for kids to play in Anacostia Skating Rink, and the ceremony of course as well.
No. There IS plenty of public transportation (bus, metro, scooters, bikes, you name it!) We recommend using these, and/or catching a ride-share wherever you want to go!
Not yet. :-) One day.
No. All events will take place outdoors in open spaces for this reason. We do want you to be aware though, As of January 15, 2022, Washington DC requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all patrons 12 years of age and older for most indoor establishments in the District of Columbia. This means that in order to attend indoor events taking place in Washington, COVID-19 vaccination documentation must be provided.
Only Mother Nature knows! This day marks the first day of the Cherry Blossom Festival. More blossoms are likely to be in bloom in the city (warmer) than on the mall, and we shall see!
Nope! Wear what ya want, keep it to your liking- and think SPRING!
Add your name to this list- wherever you would like if you want! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11d5-XKsu6wU5azD-rovQlvNZ94zCc4yUxYzGC3Fs6jA/edit
