Bring a 6 pack to share, or some snacks! We LOVE snacks. We'll have food here too, a typical Rafael BBQ party-- this will be your chance to enjoy life with us and our people at our place, think bonfires, tiki bar, dancing, karaoke --last night before the government signs us up for dual-taxes. This will be most like the 'reception' without being any prescribed reception style. Please park legally, D.C. WILL ticket you - and preference carpool or taxi/rideshare! There is street parking, but not for everyone ;-)

Ceremony

This is outdoors, on the mall, just beyond the WW2 Memorial at the DC War Memorial. Wear comfy shoes (grass all around and sidewalks) and whatever you want and enjoy your creative expressions.
Chairs will be provided. Umbrellas will not! Come prepared for any weather. Plan to be part of the interaction, if you chose, and come early for a good place! If you need accessibility, please reach out to us and let us know. There will be no alcohol or food at this location- so bring snacks if you'll be hungry :-) We will be 5-10min from plenty of food trucks, and other options if you need a quick bite! If you can wait until after the ceremony, we plan on having Dominican Republic food - chicken, rice, beans, yuca - for the day near the Anacostia River Park & Skating Rink to relax, hang, skate, bike, play basketball, throw frisbee, you name it.

After Ceremony Shennanigans

Bring play attire! There are public restrooms and a roller rink :-) if you have them, please bring skates and any outdoor game materials/balls etc. There's basketball courts, room for frisbee, running, biking, and roller skating!
We plan to have Dominican food- beans, rice, chicken, greens, yuca- and hope folks will bring drinks and pitch in as needed. We will also bring some beverages, and encourage everyone to keep it in a solo cup! If you feel inspired, bring an outdoor game to share - a frisbee, football - your bike even! There are trails, and green space, and even a playground for any little ones (or big kids, like us). It may be COLD or WET or SUNNY, so be prepared for all weather - the roller rink and sides are covered.

After people leave, and all is said and done, we'll be ready to just kick off our shoes, dance and have a few drinks! Karaoke going on at His & Hers, nearby our place. First drinks on us, the rest on you y’all. They have food you can order as well till 11PM. Party will be downstairs :) but feel free to hang anywhere! Thanks for celebrating with us!!
