This is some of the best fly fishing in Utah, and it's right by the venue. Book a guided tour or go into a fly shop, get some info and go on your own. Either way you'll probably catch a trout.
One of the best-looking national parks in America. It's a few hours south of Midway and Salt Lake City.
Want to touch dinosaur bones? Head east about two hours from Midway and you can do it. You can also see Native American rock art, wildlife and more.
Go for a hike, see wild bison or wade in the Great Salt Lake. This is about a half-hour north of Salt Lake City, so 1.5 hours from the venue. Frary Peak trail is a good hike that will take you about four hours. (There are hikes to overlooks that will take about 45 minutes and give you a good view of the lake and surrounding mountains). You can also wade in the lake and test your buoyancy.
Deer Valley Resort, in Park City, is probably the closest four-season resort to the venue. (The other is Sundance Resort). Wildflowers should still be blooming at this elevation in June.
Go catch the biggest trout of your life. The Flaming Gorge is one of our favorite places in Utah to go. It's beautiful and not too crowded. If you have the time, you can camp on the banks of the reservoir, fish from the bank or track down a boat and ski or fish. Watch out for the consistent afternoon thunderstorms.
See historic Downtown Park City, the 1800s mining town turned tourist hot-spot. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops, museums and more to check out.
Ride the tram to the top of Utah's best ski resort, or just drive through Little Cottonwood Canyon and check out the base area at Snowbird.
10,000 years in the making, the Homestead Crater is a natural wonder that you can swim in. It's a geothermal warm spring under a 55-foot tall crater. It's so deep, they do scuba diving training in it. But you can just go for a dip (maybe after golf).
I mean you're this close, why not take the time to see where so many iconic Western movies were filmed? We'd probably only recommend this for anyone who's planning the Full Utah Tour, since it takes about 7 hours to get to from Midway. (But you'd see the best Utah has to offer on the way).
One of our favorite places in Salt Lake City. Red Butte Garden has several different styles of gardens (desert, rose, Japanese, etc.) to check out. It gives great views of Salt Lake City, the Great Salt Lake, the Salt Lake Valley, and you might run into a rattlesnake.
This is an iconic Salt Lake City hike, and it's not too hard. Get a great view of the city, lake and valley, plus get a little exercise and a little nature.
It is beautiful, if you're into state capitols.
Where the magic happens.
Robert Redford's house. (Plus it's a great resort to just walk around, maybe see some wildflowers, grab a drink and food, etc.)
This is what we have in Utah. Not lakes, but reservoirs. Dammed up rivers. You can go swimming, hiking, boating or whatever you do by/in the water. And it's right by the venue.
This is the reservoir that's connected to the campground we reserved right next to the venue. Go rent a paddleboard or boat and do water stuff.
