What a time to be alive. We're both doing well and hope you are as well. Given the uncertainty of things, we're going to push pause on things as planned. It's a tough call but one we think will help everyone during the time of uncertainty. We hoped the wedding could be something to look forward to during bad times. But it's become clear that things are so uncertain, most of our out of town guests can't make travel arrangements and the best thing is to pull back on a reception for now. Sorry to anyone who planned to brave travel right now and booked plane tickets, or those hoped things would improve by June 20. We'll keep you all in the loop about any future plans as we collectively use our heads and beat this damn virus. Love, Taylor and Sonja
We weren't in Paris, or Rome, or Hawaii. Actually, we were at the top of a mountain pass in southern Utah in April when I knew it was time to ask Sonja if she wanted to make this thing permanent. But it was a little chilly. Instead, I thought it might be better to drive back down the mountain and pick out a spot to camp overlooking millions of acres of public land and ask her to marry me while we sat next to a fire and watched the sun go down. If only life were that easy. Instead, I got the truck stuck two feet deep in mud and snow on the top of the Bears Ears butte, 50 miles from cell phone service. Whoops. Not the best time to pop the question. Miraculously, we found someone and hitched a ride to town, where we found help out of our jam). I didn't want to see what would happen if I waited any longer. So, after walking down to the north bank of the Colorado River in Fry Canyon, Utah, I asked Sonja to marry me. We toasted with Pabst Blue Ribbon.
