Wonderful spot to listen to live music, sip on chilled white wines and walk the vineyards. Lawn games included.
Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling Co.
One of the better Rhode Island breweries, includes a cozy tasting room and an outdoor pavilion overlooking the Newport Bridge. Lawn games included.
Colt State Park
Prime BBQ spot. Grills available- you will need to call ahead to make reservations for a grill spot. Also great for picnics and ultimate frisbee. WORTH it.
Easton's Beach
Rhode Island's only "ocean" beach, it is a fifteen minute walk from downtown Newport and only 20 yards from the famed Newport Cliff Walk. Dell's Lemonade is consistently stationed here in the summer. The full Rhode Island experience.
Goosewing Beach (Nature Conservancy in RI)
Want a beach that's a little quieter and full of nature? Try one of the most remote areas in Rhode Island- Little Compton.
Norman Bird Sanctuary
Great spot for easy/moderate hikes. Great views of the Narragansett Bay. A favorite spot for Chris and his Mom in the 1990's. Be careful of the geese!
Blithewold Mansion
One of the more spectacular properties on the East Bay. Take a tour of their acres of blooming gardens and magnificent mansion. The views of the Narragansett Bay are breathtaking.
Newport Mansions Preservation Society
Some of the most famous houses of the 19th century owned by some of the richest man of the 19th century. Bellevue Avenue is a wonderful place to walk around with an iced coffee and a croissant. Do it.
RISD Art Museum
One of the best art museums in New England. Owned and operated by the well-regarded Rhode Island School of Design.
New Bedford Whaling Museum
Get a personalized tour of whaling history by the legend himself, Mr. Charles Tansey. Great Portuguese cuisine in the neighborhood as well.
East Bay Bike Path
The East Bay Bike Path is a bike-only road that hugs the shoreline of the Naragansett Bay. It is 13 miles from Bristol to Providence, and 26 miles roundtrip. Some of the most picturesque sights in Rhode Island! Bike rentals available.
Beavertail State Park
One of Chris's favorite towns in New England. Jamestown provides Beavertail State Park- maybe the best view of the ocean ever AND an abandoned World War II fort nearby. The abandoned fort is a haven for local graffiti artists and skateboarders. Check both out.
Roger Williams Park Zoo
Great for animal lovers!
Federal Hill Neighborhood
Renowned for its Italian cuisine. Near the heart of the city. Pricy but delicious.
