We can't wait to celebrate with you!

We matched on Hinge on July 4th 2020, went on our first date on July 9th, and never looked back. We both love weather and when we matched, Dave's opening line was something along the lines of "Weather Channel and chill should be a thing." Our first date was in Fort Green Park, which we can see from our current apartment! We had rosé, Insomnia cookies, and talked until the sun went down. We both felt an immediate connection- so much so that Dave got on the wrong train home, taking him 18 stops, and Sydney immediately told her girlfriends it was the last first date she was ever going on. Covid dating was tough! We spent a lot of time in Central Park, taking Ubers back and forth from Dave's apartment on the Upper East Side and Sydney's studio in Brooklyn, and lots of outdoor dining. We spent our first Thanksgiving and Hannukah/Christmas away from our families, but together. It was hard on both of us but we made the most of it. It wasn't until Valentine's day when we had our first drink indoors, and to this date we still haven't been to a movie theater together. We're thankful that our families were able to meet in 2021 and also that we got to travel to Oregon to meet Dave's new nephew, and our ring bearer, Noah last summer. After asking Joel and Debra in August, Dave proposed to Sydney in San Diego November 28th, with a few of our 8-legged friends in tow. Dave brought our 3 stuffed animal octopuses (Odell, Squidney, and Squidell) to help with his master plan and had been hiding them in his suitcase for the entire week prior to proposing. We added another octopus to the gang who we appropriately named Diamond Diego. Unfortunately for them, the octopuses were soon replaced with real animals- Hurricane and Tornado, the kittens we adopted earlier this year. They won't be making an appearance at the wedding- but we hope everyone gets to meet them soon!
