The wedding is black tie attire required. The ceremony will be held on the lawn of the Inn, therefore ladies may want to rethink stilettos. And while we expect beautiful weather, we will be having the ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors on the water, therefore it may be breezy. For more information on black tie attire, please reach out to the couple or visit: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-black-tie
The wedding festivities will officially begin on Saturday with the Welcome Party, although there will be some form of informal gathering after the Rehearsal Dinner on Friday evening to welcome any guests who arrive on Friday. The wedding weekend will culminate with a post-wedding breakfast and farewell on Monday morning. We recommend booking travel as soon as possible, as the holiday weekend may make it difficult to book later on. Additional travel and hotel information can be found on the Travel & Accommodations page of this website.
Wedding: As much as we adore all of the children of our friends and family, we unfortunately are unable to accommodate children at the actual wedding on Sunday. Welcome Party: However if you and your family plan to travel to Westport with your children for the long holiday weekend, we absolutely welcome children at all of the other events throughout the weekend, including the Welcome Party which will be very child-friendly! We are also more than happy to assist you in procuring local child care for the night of the wedding, if needed. If you do plan to have children with you for the weekend, please contact Emma at (303) 229-6672 for more details.
Wedding: The ceremony will be outdoors and on the water, as will be the cocktail hour. The reception, however, will be indoors. Welcome Party: The welcome party on Saturday will also be outside and on the water at a local beach, but will be under a covered tent.
Wedding: More detailed information regarding transportation forthcoming. However, there will be a shuttle to transport guests to and from each hotel for the wedding on Sunday. Ubers are another viable option to and from all wedding events, as is driving yourself. If you choose to drive yourself, please see the following question for information regarding parking. After-Party: The wedding after-party will be hosted at Siena Ristorante (which is the restaurant located inside Hotel Zero Degrees). If you are staying at the Delamar, but are interested in attending the After Party, you will take the shuttle to the after party, and then will be responsible for getting an Uber or other ride back to the Delamar afterwards.
Wedding: If you would prefer to drive to the venue for the wedding on Sunday, there is guest parking available in the lot to the right of the Inn. There will be parking attendants to direct you to the designated parking lots. Guests who need it can be dropped off at the front door. Welcome Party: If you choose to drive and park at the welcome party, please be advised that there will be a small parking fee that you will need to enter the beach property where the welcome party is being hosted. You can, however, get dropped off at the welcome party without paying the parking fee. We will post more information about this as well in the coming weeks.
While we would love to accommodate everybody, due to capacity restraints, only those who have specifically received a plus one on their invitation can bring a date to the wedding. We are looking forward to having an intimate celebration with all of our closest family and friends.
While it is starting to feel like we are over the Covid-19 hump, due to very close family members who we will have in attendance that are either elderly or immunocompromised, we are still taking conscientious precautions for the virus. We prefer that our guests be vaccinated for Covid-19, but we also understand and respect the individual choices made by all of our invited guests. Regardless of vaccination status, we do kindly ask that all guests test for Covid-19 prior to traveling to the wedding so we can ensure our wedding is the safest celebration it can be!
We are registered through Zola (who has partnership with Crate & Barrel and Macy's), as well as Amazon. Both registries are listed on the "Registry" tab of this website. If you encounter any issues with the Zola registry system, or have any questions, Zola Customer Support is very helpful and can be reached at (408) 657-9652.
We will not be providing a full dinner at the welcome party, however we will be serving drinks and various passed hors d'oeuvres. We opted to host the Welcome Party from 4-7 pm to allow guests to go out for dinner at their leisure after the Welcome Party, if desired. For restaurant recommendations in Norwalk, Southport and/or Westport, please see the "Things To Do" tab of this website.
In homage to Emma's Colorado roots, the theme and attire for the welcome party on Saturday is Western Flair. There is no strict definition of western flair, but the default attire is smart casual, and some examples of "western flair" could include adding in cowboy boots, cowboy hat, bolo tie, etc. If you do not own any western attire, please do not feel obligated to purchase any and simply default to smart casual attire. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out to Emma at (303) 229-6672.
There are two ways that we have provided to RSVP to the wedding - the first is under the "RSVP" tab on this website, and the second is via the pre-stamped RSVP return card which came with your invitation. We have offered both options for thoroughness, and also because the website RSVP system allows us to get a rough headcount for all events throughout the wedding weekend. Either form of RSVP is acceptable, however we do ask that if you choose the return RSVP card and your party has more than one guest, please be sure to indicate which guest has selected each meal choice. We ask that all guests send us their RSVP before March 31, 2024.
Some of our guests have reached out with difficulty accessing the online RSVP through our website. Zola requires each invited guest to input their name in order to RSVP so that each guest can RSVP for the proper events. If Zola is telling you that your name cannot be found, it is because we have used a different spelling of your name in our guest list. Please try using an alternative spelling of your name (in particular, the formal spelling of your name) and/or using the name of another guest in your party. If neither of those options work, please reach out to Emma at (303) 229-6672 and we will fix it.
Invitations were sent out at the end of January to all guests. If you have not received your formal invitation in the mail by mid-February (or by end of February for our international guests), please contact Emma at (303) 229-6672, as that would mean it was lost in transit.
