Yes! We are registered through Zola. You can find our registry by clicking the Registry page near the top of our website between Things to Do and FAQs. Zola will ship your gift to us closer to the wedding, so no need to worry about shipping a gift if you are out of town!
Spring is often unpredictable, but temperatures are usually in the 50s and 60s in late April. We will be outdoors in a blooming garden and spring will likely be in full force, so plan accordingly if you have seasonal allergies.
If you're traveling from somewhere else, yes. Red Butte Garden sits in the foothills of the Wasatch range at an elevation just over 5000 feet above sea level. If you're coming from the Great Plains or coastal regions, you'll probably notice this on stairs, as you walk up hills, or as you talk while walking. The elevation combined with our desert climate will dehydrate you much more quickly than you would get at home. We recommend you sip on water at the rate of one liter per two hours and wear sunscreen. The effects of alcohol are also amplified at altitude.
We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony and speeches; we’d like that time to be unplugged. Our wonderful photographers allow us to share photos with you after the wedding, so please keep cameras and phones away so you can be fully present with us during that time and we can see your faces in our photos.
Please make sure you've RSVPd for your party by February 28 so we have a seat and meal for you. You can RSVP by returning the card that was included in your invitation or by finding the RSVP page across the top of our website.
If your invitation indicates "& guest," then yes! Please make sure you RSVP for them.
Yes! There is a parking lot for Red Butte Garden on the west side of the main entrance.
There is a shuttle available for out of town guests staying at the Little America. The shuttle will leave the Little America Hotel at 4:00pm and return after the reception at 10:00pm. If you will be riding the shuttle to and from our wedding, please indicate how many riders when you RSVP so we have a seat for you.
We will be outdoors in a garden, so dress for the weather in spring patterns and colors. Think slacks and pastels, light suits, floral patterns, and flowy dresses. You may walk over some slightly uneven surfaces, so choose shoes accordingly.
Our ceremony is at 5:00pm and will last approximately half an hour. After the ceremony, we will have some brief family pictures and a social hour before dinner, speeches, dancing, and cake.
No. If you bring your children, they will be seated with you and yours to manage for the evening. Please RSVP for any children you are bringing. There are many plants in the Gardens and Orangerie that may be tempting to young children. Please note that Red Butte Gardens prohibits touching or moving the plants or identification signs. Children need to be closely watched throughout the event so we can comply with these rules.
No. There are many great options for hotels in downtown Salt Lake City. We recommend the Little America Hotel (see our Travel page), and that is where the shuttle pick up and drop off will be.
