The town of Sant Pére de Ribes and nearby Sitges are both great for shopping. These towns are big wedding/celebration and tourist areas that are both very fashionable, and LGBTQ friendly. There are plenty of clothing and souvenir shops to be found. One area of note is the Mercat Municipal de Sitges a market with many different food areas, farmer's market, nearby restaurants and attractions. This market is about 8 minutes by car from our villa. We will visit this market for a planned excursion for our Potluck Dinner night (see more details under Schedule). Sitges has several chain stores but many unique places, small boutiques, and local stores. There are four main streets for shopping in Sitges: Carrer Sant Francesc, Carrer Parellades, Carrer Major and Carrer Jesus. The four streets end together in one point, where the Cap de la Villa is located. Besides clothing and fashion accessories stores, those streets are home to cafes, restaurants and patisseries.
Sitges, home to the original Pacha, creating our modern nightclubs. Sitges is known for its nightlife, "The best way to pass an evening is to walk the waterfront esplanade, have a leisurely dinner, and then retire at 11pm to an open-air cafe for a nightcap and some serious people-watching" says Frommer's guide to the best nightlife. The club scene is predominantly gay and "Mediterráneo" on Sant Bonaventura is the largest gay disco/bar. Located in a restored 1690s house east of the Plaça d'Espanya, it has a formal Iberian Garden and upstairs are pool tables and a covered terrace. New Ricky's Disco, Sant Pau 25, which has a cover charge of 10€ to 12€. This place caters to an international mix of gay and straight visitors. It's set back from the beach on a narrow street noted for its inexpensive restaurants and folkloric color. Trailer is another club we've read is the best place to end the night. It's foam parties are infamous. The 10€ cover includes a drink. It closes at 6am.

I know several folks are Scuba certified and we hear the waters off the coast of Sitges are lovely. There are a few dive shops in the area and we can gather more information from our hosts for their recommendations as well.
Check out Casa Batlló a UNESCO world heritage site and an icon of Gaudí’s modernist design. See the website for tours from early morning to magical nights with live music. This historic, architecturally stunning home, along with other homes built during “the bone of contention” is a highlight of the city.
