A visit to Montezuma Falls is one of the most popular things to do in the area, even for people staying on the Santa Teresa side of the peninsula. There are three large pool, great for cliff jumping and swimming (please be careful!). Puggo's is a fabulous restaurant nearest the entrance to the Montezuma Falls trail. The mint/lime slushies (add some rum!) are a must! Bring your bathing suit and hiking shoes.

If you're looking for adventure, be sure to take a day trip to Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, 5 kilometers away. As the country's first protected area, this park encompasses 1,270 hectares of mixed forest filled with 150 species of birds, including brown pelicans, laughing gulls, ospreys and brown boobies. In fact, this tip of the peninsula is an important seabird sanctuary. Rest assured, there are forest trails and stunning ocean views awaiting your visit.
Tortuga Island is among the famous snorkeling destinations in the Nicoya Peninsula. It is a good site for amateurs due to its calm, clear snorkeling in Costa Rican waters and little currants. You can see different species of colorful fish and sea turtles around this island.
Cabo Blanco was the very first national park and marine reserve in Costa Rica. On this sea kayaking tour, you will paddle your way around the waters surrounding Cabo Blanco and visit a submarine volcano. You may see many sea turtles and birds on this tour. You may also see some whales and dolphins on this tour, if it is the season for their migrations.
