While formal invitations will not be mailed until four months before the wedding, you can RSVP on the website as soon as you know if you'll be attending or not. The deadline to RSVP is November 30, 2019.
You can buy your ticket by visiting this site: http://bit.ly/IslaTortugaExcursion OR by sending a Venmo with the names of the people you are paying for in the notes to @Emily-Southard OR mailing a check to Emily Southard 2716 N Lafayette St. Denver, CO 80205. The price is $90 per person (11 years and older), $55 for children 5-10, and free for children under 5 -- all of which are welcome.
With its tropical climate and equatorial proximity, Costa Rica is a destination that is ideal to visit year-round. February sits in the middle of the dry season or summertime which lasts from approximately mid-December through April. It will be hot and humid!

Yes, all nationalities need a passport valid for a minimum of six months from the date of arrival in the country. Please check with the nearest Costa Rican Embassy or Consulate for entry visa requirements for your nationality (American and Canadian citizens do not need a visa). For American citizens, if you do not have a passport or need to renew yours visit the U.S. State Department website for information.
Costa Rica has two international airports. One in San Jose (SJO), the capital, and a smaller one in Liberia (LIR) in the northwest of the country. All major airlines service both airports. We recommend flying into SJO. Ground and air transportation are cheaper and more available from SJO to our area. One domestic airline offers flights within the country: Sansa Air (https://flysansa.com/en/planifique-y-compre/). The national airport closest to Santa Teresa is called TAMBOR airport. The flight is a short 25 minutes flying over the Nicoya Bay and is extremely beautiful. From Tambor airport, you will need to arrange a taxi to drive you to the town (approx. 50 minutes).
The coast of Costa Rica stays fairly warm all year long and usually only a light sweater or long sleeve shirt is needed on occasion. For the most part of your stay, you will be in your bathing suit. A few light summer clothes like dresses, shorts, and tank tops should be mainly what you bring for clothes. Bring comfortable sandals or flip-flops and maybe a good pair of walking shoes. Just think light and comfortable! For the wedding, formal beach attire is perfect. Be sure to pack sunblock, a wide-brimmed hat, bug repellent or anything else you'd need to stay cool and comfortable in a sunny, tropical environment.
As much as we love your kids, we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration. Of course, children in the wedding party and nursing babies are the exception. And you're more than welcome to bring children to Costa Rica with you, they will just have to stay in for the wedding and reception but can attend the Welcome Party and Isla Tortuga Excursion. We'd be happy to help you arrange childcare, as well, so please contact us if you will need a babysitter. We hope you understand!
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #SoGood2020 so we can keep track of all of your pictures! We also encourage our guests to download the photo application The Guest on your phone by visiting this link: http://in.veri.com/to/sogood2020?t=e
We took our first international vacation to Costa Rica and fell in love with the people and the landscape. Additionally, for most of our guests, it costs as much or less to fly to than West Virginia (our second location option). Sorry to all of our WV friends that have to travel further! Lastly, here are a few fun facts that we love about the country: 1) Costa Rica abolished its army in the 1940s to invest in its people's education, welfare, and the environment. 2) 30% of Costa Rica is protected national parks. 3) Santa Teresa's local beach was voted one of the top five in the world by Forbes Magazine. 4) The Nicoya Peninsula is one of a handful of 'Blue Zones' in the world. These are places in the world where people live longer and healthier than anywhere else on earth due to their environment and surroundings. 5) Costa Rica has vowed to fully decarbonize its economy and go completely carbon neutral by 2021. It is well on track to achieve this historic goal.
Yes, please! We want to make sure that all of our guests are healthy and happy. You can email Emily or Will with any requests (sooogood2020@gmail.com). We will have vegetarian options available at the reception.
Because Santa Teresa is such a small town and the vast majority of guests will be staying in walking distance to and from the wedding venue, we will not be offering transportation. Please take this into consideration for footwear.
Oh la la. In order to keep our guest list on track, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions!
Not a problem! You can reach us at sooogood2020@gmail.com (yes, that's three 'o's in 'so'). We look forward to helping in any way we can.
