Emily Roos Southard

Bride

William Charles Goodin

Groom

Devon Revels

Maid of Honor

I remember the first day of Junior High when I walked into Mrs. Babbey’s classroom over 23 years ago. That bright red hair caught my eye and I knew I needed to be friends with this girl. We soon became inseparable. We joined ski club, dominated with the track team and basically spent some of the best years of our lives together. Most of my best stories include Emily because life is more fun, exciting, and filled with adventure with her in it. Emily continues to be one of my most favorite people even though she’s halfway across the country.

Chris Skagen

Best Man

Will and I became friends after meeting at Cherry Creek High School in Denver, CO back in 2000. We were roommates at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. We love skiing, backpacking, and flyfishing together - and we continue to cause a ruckus whenever possible.

Kathryn Coldiron

Bridesmaid

I met Emily the first day of our freshman year at Connecticut College when we became roommates in the best, classiest dorm on campus, Marshall. I think my love for Emily was instantaneous. When Pookie emerged it just intensified :) I remember meeting her and thinking "thank God, I think I'm going to get along with my roommate." Cut to 17 years later and Emily is still one of the best, most caring, loyal, and fun friends I have ever known. We've had some amazing experiences together traveling abroad, skiing, wine tasting, concert-going... and now I'm absolutely thrilled to be part of Emily and Will's wedding! To say I'm happy for Emily and Will is an understatement, and I can't wait to celebrate the beginning of this journey with them!

Groomsman

I met Will and Emily at Holz Elementary in Charleston, WV. Will has been a once in a lifetime friend. I remember how sad everyone was in high school when he moved to Colorado. We got really drunk in his parent’s garage and spray painted “Will 4 Life” on the walls with tears in our eyes. We played the last game of pool ever that day (there have since been over 100 last games of pool). A favorite tradition of mine is going to visit Will in Colorado for our annual ski trip. It’s hard not to smile when around Will because his positive energy is contagious. It’s pretty crazy to think Will met both of his soulmates in elementary school. Very excited to celebrate in Costa Rica with such an amazing, fun-loving, adventure-seeking couple.

Tahereh Coq

Bridesmaid

I met Emily in college and we have been fast friends ever since. I then met Will after they had started dating, and I have to say he fit in with her and our friends and her family flawlessly. It really does feel like it was meant to be!

I’ve known Will; aka. Cousin, Cuz, T(ravel) B(uddy); for as long as I can remember. Whether it was a family trip to West Virginia, skiing in Colorado (don’t forget your NJ driver’s license if you’re renting Sled Dogs), competing in countless games of Pool Volleyball, or traipsing about the world; we always had a great time… and may have gotten into a little trouble here and there. FUN FACT: We both share an affinity for a good toga party (admittedly, I’m probably to blame). Shortly after Emily and Will reconnected I had the opportunity to meet Emily for the first time. It was instantly apparent this was the real deal! I couldn’t be happier for the two and am very excited to help celebrate their special day. See you in Costa Rica!

Bridesmaid

I remember having breakfast with my big brother, William about 10 years ago. He was so excited to tell me about his new girlfriend, Emily. I knew from that very day that this girl was different. Emily immediately felt like family to me, and I considered her a sister not long into their relationship. I didn’t consider her a sister just because of her relationship with my brother. I considered her a sister because she truly is someone I look up to and am inspired by. I am looking forward to all of the pre-wedding festivities and getting to know all of Emily’s close friends I’ve heard so much about.

Groomsman

I first met William over 10 years ago when I started dating his sister, Megan. Although he had the protective, big brother role to fulfill, he was quick to welcome me into his family when we were married. I have been fortunate enough to watch William and Emily's relationship grow from the very beginning and it has been a remarkable experience. They compliment each other so well and it didn't take long to realize that what they had was real. It has been a pleasure enjoying the last decade with them and I look forward to many more. Can't wait until Costa Rica!!!

Katie Powell

Bridesmaid

Emily and I met through a mutual friend when I moved to Denver six years ago and it was love at first brunch. Her warmth, wit, and fun-loving nature quickly became a constant I depended upon, and I can't imagine my life without her.

Groomsman

I met Will in Charleston, WV at Holz Elementary in 2nd grade. We've kept in close touch ever since then and despite living in different parts of the country for most of our lives, I consider Will to be one of my best friends. The one thing that I associate Will with is instantaneous hysterical laughter within minutes of seeing each other. Will has seen me at my best and at my worse (sometimes the two are hard to distinguish from one another), and I'm glad to consider him a great friend and brother.

Amy Horowitz

Bridesmaid

Emily and I met the very first day of our college experience. Emily later noted she was immediately "intimidated" by my hoop earrings and thick New York accent. It was the classic love story between a New Yorker and West Virginian. Emily and I share a profound love of eating Asian food, Disney, and friendly competition. We have shared ridiculous adventures from New London, to New York City, to Denver. In Denver Emily has opened her home as a retreat full of love and warmth and visiting is my favorite part of the year. I am so happy Emily has brought Will into my life as another beloved friend and could not be happier to see them celebrate and publicly acknowledge their love. I look forward to a wedding filled with endless giggles, sing-a-longs, and lifelong memories.

Joe Pollock

Groomsman

I've known Will and Emily since we met at Holz Elementary in Charleston, WV. Although we haven't lived in the same state, often not even on the same continent, for nearly two decades, Will has remained one of my most valued friends. No matter how long it's been, within 3 minutes of getting together with Will, without fail, he has me laughing to the point of tears. No one brings joy to a room like he does. Will just does things bigger. He smiles bigger, laughs bigger, loves bigger, and lives bigger! It's not every day you get to celebrate two people you've known nearly your entire life committing to spend the rest of their lives together. I am so excited for Will and Emily, and I look forward to many more decades of laughter, light, and love as they continue to build their lives together.

Katie McCarty

Bridesmaid

My more formative years were spent in Charleston, WV, where I first met Emily. Running track, playing volleyball, and even singing together in a prestigious children’s choir brought us together. This deep friendship has continued, as we both live in Denver, CO, just blocks from one another (and still play volleyball together!). And yes, William happens to be my brother.

Kevin McCarty

Groomsman

I met Will and Emily in 2014 when I started dating Katie, Will’s sister, who I have been happily married to now for the last few years. He immediately welcomed me with open arms to the family and we’ve had a ton of great times together, including volleyball, kickball, trips to Florida (with some epic games of PVB!) and of course our group to trip to Cancun in 2018 where we pretty much ordered everything on the menu per Will’s request. Will is a born leader, has been an amazing brother to his two sisters Katie and Megan, and is someone I am incredibly proud to call my brother. I so excited and honored to be a groomsman supporting Will and Emily as they continue down the next chapter of their incredibly amazing journey through life.

Asa Shiverick IV

Bridesman

Pookie (or Emily if we use her professional name) and I first met in 2002 when we lived in the same dorm during our freshman year at Connecticut College. We bonded quickly over a shared interest in procrastination and soon became close friends. After many adventures in and around New London and beyond, I am honored and excited to be part of this special celebration.

Justin Powell

Groomsman

Mimosas, bocce, and a bottle of Romania wine – the rest was history. Bryan Mierke introduced me to Will when I first moved to Denver in 2013, and he’s been one of my closest friends ever since. Will is one of the most reliable people I have ever known, and in adulthood, it’s rare to find a friend like that. I’m looking forward to celebrating with these two amazing people, hopefully belting some Rob Thomas in the process, and seeing what their future holds.

Stephen Goldman

Groomsman

I've only recently met Emily and Will (~3 years) but have been forever changed from those short years. From spending countless nights speaking drunken spanish, seeing Tom Petty in concert, skiing vacations, furry conventions, bathroom selfies, and starting one of the most earth shaking cannabis investment companies with Will, I've been able to see why so many people love them both. I'm happy to call them my friends, business partners, and family.
