Shelby and Lauren have known each other since they were in 6th grade at Newcomb Academy in Long Beach. After college, they ran into each other at The Dime on Fairfax and began hanging out again, then quickly became inseparable. They began throwing amazing Halloween parties that have since become legend, and traveled to London, Paris, China, and Thailand together, usually getting into quite a bit of trouble.
Denis Janin
Groomsman
Denis and Simon met in high school (or whatever it is called in France) and have been BFF ever since. Denis moved on to do very smart things with nuclear power, but they still hang out and go skiing. Sim was very happy to be in Denis and Marion's wedding in 2016, and now Denis is in Shelby and Simon's wedding. If you want good stories about Sim back when he was a weird teenager, ask Denis :)
Caitlin Chambers
Bridesmaid
Beginning in 1993, Caitlin has been Shelby's sister and one of her best friends. Things were rocky in the years when Caitlin would sneak into Shelby's room and take things or rearrange her shelves, but have improved quite a bit since then. Caitlin is definitely the cool sister: she's a musician and is in a band, is an interior designer, and has way better hair.
Edouard Bulteau

Simon and Edouard met at École Polytechnique on the first day when Edouard didn't set an alarm and reported late, getting his whole squadron in trouble. They both joined the paratroopers, and jumped out of planes together hundreds of times. Then they were roommates while they studied at Cambridge. Now they meet up to hike or surf or trail run in Central California. They planned on running a 50 mile trail run in 2017 but both got injured and had to cancel--cool story bro.
Faustine Calvet

Faustine is Simon's super cool and talented younger sister. Shelby was very nervous to meet Faustine in Brittany in 2015 because Simon made it seem like Faustine was going to be very critical of any girl he introduced to his family. It turns out that Faustine is actually extremely sweet and Simon was just trying to scare Shelby and he is mean. Faustine visited Simon and Shelby in Los Angeles, designed their new deck, and then they sent her home with a tattoo, a cold, and a new love of pupusas.
Sophie Lozano
Groomsman
Sophie is quite literally Simon's oldest friend, so he immediately knew he wanted her as one of his "groomsmen." They met in childcare when they were just two years old. Simon recalls that Sophie was always in charge growing up, right in there with all the boys, telling them what to do. Sophie has travelled all over the world but still needs to come visit Shelby and Simon in LA.
Megan Sayers Chapham
Bridesmaid
Megan and Shelby became accidental friends circa 2009 when Megan was a Craigslist roommate to one of Shelby's BFF's from high school and college. They always got along well because they were sassy business ladies working in journalism-adjacent fields. Over the years, their paths kept crossing, until they finally decided to just become friends. Then, Shelby invited Megan to work at Disney so that they could see each other every day. Ever since, they've been each other's biggest work cheerleaders.
Tony Maggio
Groomsman
Tony and Simon met while studying engineering things at Stanford. The two then ended up in Los Angeles, and were roommates in Silver Lake for a year, just a few blocks from where Shelby lived. Tony helped Simon focus on his partying skills, and introduced him to a game called snappa. Simon doesn't remember much of this. Now the two go hiking long distances for fun on the weekends.
