It was a cloudy spring day in April 2022. Corrie, dressed in a matching black dress and blazer, was power walking through the streets of DC (as she is apt to do) on her way to an important meeting with the Secretary. She was running a little behind, so she took out her phone to text her boss. Now, Corrie can basically run in these heels (and has) but that day she must've been too distracted because her block heel caught the edge of one of the many uneven cobble stones in DC. Her ankle turned over and she stumbled sideways toward the sidewalk. Shaun, who was in his car stopped at a stoplight, saw her ginger hair flying from the corner of his eye and his training went into action. He had gotten out of work early that day (again) but thankfully, was still in his OCPs, so he could move swiftly. He lurched the car into gear and found an unlikely spot next to her to pull over and put on his flashers. He jumped over the hood of the car (just like in the movies) and ran toward Corrie. Unfortunately, he didn't make it in time and Corrie was already on the ground, papers everywhere. She was busy gathering herself together and putting everything back in her Kate Spade bag, when she saw his size 12 combat boots walk up. Now, having dated a mil man or two, she immediately recoiled and pretended not to notice his approach. She stood up on her own and brushed herself off and began walking away. Eagle eye Shaun, however, noticed she had left her sunglasses behind. He couldn't bear the thought of those blue eyes taking in all that refracted sunlight unprotected, so he ran up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. She whipped around as if about to punch someone, but then looked at the handsome man standing before her, holding out her sunglasses...and the rest is history. Just kidding. We met on Hinge via video chat. It wasn't until the third date (after Shaun had complained about all the terrible American food but then made up for it by doing a goofy little dance on his way to the bathroom, and Corrie made some unknown weirdo comment in a British accent) that they knew they were in the best kind of trouble.
