Front Street is completely closed to cars, making it perfect for strolling. You'll find everything from cheese shops and wine-tasting rooms to dedicated year-round Christmas boutiques.
If you want a quick, beautiful escape right from downtown, head two blocks down the hill to this peaceful park. It features flat, easy walking trails right along the Wenatchee River with gorgeous mountain backdrops.
For the hikers in the group, this is a local classic. It's a steady uphill climb (about 4-6 miles roundtrip) that rewards you with a massive, panoramic view of the entire town and valley below.
Colchuck Lake (For Serious Hikers): If you are looking for a true Pacific Northwest bucket-list adventure and are up for a challenge, Colchuck Lake is unmatched. This happens to be the start of KyAnn’s absolute favorite hike in Washington (consider this your invitation to come back in the future when you have a full day for the 22-mile Enchantments thru-hike!). It's also a place that famously tested our communication skills as a couple—so please plan on having absolutely zero cell service out there! It’s a grueling 8-mile round-trip hike with 2,300 feet of elevation gain, but it rewards you with breathtaking, crystal-clear turquoise alpine water sitting right beneath massive granite peaks. The Catch: This is a strenuous, 4-to-6-hour hike. The trailhead parking lot fills up completely by 6:00 AM on summer weekends, and you will need a Northwest Forest Pass to park.
Located right at the entrance of town, this spot features the Tumwater Twister Alpine Coaster. You can control your own speed as you coast down the mountain.
This is KyAnn's absolute favorite spot for a post-hike bratwurst. Apparently, they have an amazing, world-class specialty mustard bar—but she wouldn't actually know. Honestly, the brats are great condiment-less. It’s a fun, open-air Bavarian grill right in the middle of town with a great outdoor patio and local beers on tap. Perfect for a quick, casual lunch.
The classic brewery of Leavenworth for local pints. The patio is the best in the summer but but if you head indoors, don't miss the chance to grab a seat inside one of their repurposed ski gondolas
A personal favorite of ours! It’s a fantastic, hidden-gem spot with an incredibly friendly owner and great beers. Just a heads-up: the space is very small and intimate, so it’s best for a quick drink in small numbers
