Maid of Honor
Valerie is my younger sister and biggest fan. She studied Therapeutic Recreation at Indiana State University and has chosen to dedicate her life to supporting people with disabilities. Things to know about Valerie include but are not limited to: 1. Valerie loves to dance. Sometimes she does this alone in her bedroom. Other times she does this in the living room with our mom and I. Sometimes it's good; most of the time it's not. Either way, it's a lot of fun. 2. She is always down to sit with you around a campfire. She is sure to quietly listen but if you're lucky, she will slip in well-placed, funny, and painfully honest commentary. 3. Valerie is kind. She is the kind of kind that will make you strive to be better. This is my favorite quality in her.
Best Man
Evan and I have been friends for 16 years. He’s the reason I went back to college to finish my Bachelors in Business from ISU which put me on the path I’m on today. We lived together at ISU and had an amazing apartment; those were the days! As we transitioned from college to the real world, we started plans to move to Hawaii, but Veronica came into the picture, so that’s taken a back seat- haha! Maybe he'll move out to Denver one day?! He’s one of the funniest, most caring, and kindest guys I know. I’m so lucky to have him standing with me on the most important day of my life and you all are lucky you get to meet him.
Matron of Honor
Heather and I met at SIUC in 2008. However, Heather later transferred out and went on to graduate from Illinois State in 2013. Heather is bubbly and very talkative! She is also the greatest example of generous, committed, and unconditional love, which is why I have chosen her to stand by Scott and I on our wedding day. Here are some facts about Heather: 1. She LOVES Disney, a lot! Her favorite of the Disney princesses is Ariel. 2. She is determined! She gave birth to her son, Max in 2018 with no drugs just to prove that she could. Feel free to congratulate her for that at any point. 3. She will kill it on the dance floor. She even auditioned for "So You Think You Can Dance" in college!
Best Man
Kyle and I met when I moved to Washington in 4th grade. We had the same teacher and ever since then he’s been one of my best friends. Kyle got married to Casey in 2017 and they just had their first son, Cooper. He’s always been the “dad” of the group and now has a son to match his personality! Kyle will go out of his way to help out his friends and family. He loves being on the water, whether it’s boating, tubing, wakeboarding, or just floating in life jackets. We’ve had some amazing trips down to the Lake of the Ozarks. He introduced me to Crossfit and we were even teammates at a few events. Some of our favorite movies, that we still quote to this day, are Jaws, Twister, and Basketball. Maybe if we’re lucky we’ll see him do a striptease and get wild on the dance floor.
Bridesmaid
Adrianna and I met at Southern Illinois University (SIUC) in 2008. I was a lost freshman and Adrianna was the sympathetic senior who took pity on me. Adrianna escorted me across campus to our linguistics class and it's been love ever since. Adrianna earned her place here because she has spent countless hours steering me in the right direction. She is so wise! Adrianna has given me advice on EVERYTHING. We can all pretty much thank her for my career, master's degree, and successful relationship with Scott. She is also the sole reason I own real makeup and use actual make up brushes. You're all welcome.
Groomsman
Adam and I have known each other since middle school basketball. We became closer towards the end of high school and into college. We’ve had countless times of watching movies in his basement or DJing music on his turn table. Him and I would road trip to ISU almost every weekend to visit the other guys to party and have a fun time. Adams a great person to have in depth talks with and discuss topics that will make you think outside the box.
Bridesmaid
Caitlin is my oldest friend! I moved to Sullivan, IL in 2001, where Caitlin and I quickly became partners in birthday parties, awkward school dances, and poor wardrobe choices (mostly on my part). Caitlin is quiet and polite, which you may see as a nice counter balance for me...and you wouldn't be wrong! She's a supportive listener and can get 100% credit for me having both a cell phone and Facebook upon entering college. She has encouraged me through difficult times and celebrated with me when the opportunity presented. She is smart, generous, and incredibly empathic. Her favorite wedding dance is the Cupid Shuffle, make sure to join her!
Groomsman
Rob and I became friends when we were in middle school. We played basketball together 6-8th grade and continued to stay close through high school and beyond. Rob is the more musically gifted one in our group. He is a good guitar player and once upon a time was the front man in a band. We used to work next door to each other in the car industry. He’s one of the funniest guys I know with great insight on recruiting and business.
Bridesmaid
Astha (rhymes with "pasta", without the "p") and I were infamous partners in crime throughout college at SIUC, known as "The brown and the ginger". Together we made a series of poor decisions that somehow culminated in timely graduation for both of us. Astha is from Lake Zurich, IL but has made Houston, TX home since graduation. Facts about Astha: 1. She is bi-lingual! While Astha was born in America, she is first-generation Indian and speaks Gujarati. I LOVE listening to her conversations with her parents and learning about Indian culture and family dynamics. 2. She has also cooked me many delicious meals. Astha can cook in a variety of different cuisines, but her specialties are Mexican and Italian. 3. Astha is funny! So. Very. Funny.
Groomsman
Zach (AKA Heiny as most of us call him) and I have been friends since 5th grade. We first played travel basketball together and we were on the golf team together for all 4 years of high school. We were together most of the time after that. His old house was the place to go for sporting events because he had a huge theater room with a projector, which was the best way to watch games. Heiny has followed in his dads footsteps and now works with him at Heinold Homes and Renovations doing everything in the remodeling field. He has been married since 2010 and has 3 children: Paxten, Zion, and Penelope.
Bridesmaid
Kinsey and I met at SIUC in 2008 and became quick friends (due to an impromptu game of Catch Phrase). Kinsey lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan and works as an accountant. If you find her during the reception, make sure to ask her about her experience doing taxes for eskimos in Alaska! Don't let her job fool you though, she is quick witted, fun, and very funny! She loves spoiling animals, growing plants, Kate Spade, and 90's music. Kinsey is great at giving spray tans and planning fun weekends. She can be credited for all new (now embarrassing) outfits I bought in college and my love of bubble tea. She is also responsible for my college nickname, "Vern".
Groomsman
This is Clay. He's a cool dude. He's a lawyer in Chicago, but is originally from Washington. Scott got tired of writing. So, here we are. We promise that Scott likes Clay more than this temporary bio might suggest.
