How to get here, where to stay and how to get around while you're here...

Flight

Airports: Laguardia, JFK, Newark

NYC has 3 main airports that provide service. Laguardia (LGA) is the closest geographically (30 min drive) to the wedding venue and many of the suggested hotels. This will most likely be the most convenient place to fly in. There is not a great offering for public transport at this airport, so will require cab/Lyft or Uber to suggested hotels. JFK is the busiest airport of the region, and offers the most flight options. If you choose to fly in here, know this is also a good option but is a bit farther from our suggested hotels. This option does however, provide an option to catch a relatively economical train ride into Brooklyn should you want to skip getting a car or cab. Train ride time is about 90 min, and car ride time is about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic and time of day. Newark (EWR) is in New Jersey, but is a popular place for travelers to fly into NYC. This is the farthest from our suggested hotels, however this airport can sometimes offer the best flight deals. Public transport to Brooklyn is doable but includes a bus, ferry and subway. Car service and cabs are readily available. Car travel time to suggested hotels: 60-90min. Public transport time to suggested hotels: 90-120min.

Travel Note

Parking: Near Wedding Venue

Parking Garage located across the street from the venue at 53 North 3rd St Brooklyn, NY 11249. Hourly parking available, please inquire for reservations if needed.

Travel Note

Lyft or Uber

Both apps, Lyft ad Uber are frequented by people living in Brooklyn. Simply download the application in your application store, if you've never used them. It will ask for some basic information, and you can charge on-demand cab rides to a credit card. This method is a bit more expensive than the train but provides a convenient option that requires far less navigation and sets you free from the worst part of city driving...the parking.

Train

MTA Subway (Local Travel)

Google Maps does a great job of laying out step-by-step how to navigate the subways of NYC. You can easily put in the starting point, destination and get very detailed instructions. You will need a metro card (purchased at any station via automated kiosk) or a credit card (auto-tap at any subway entrance) to access the subways. The price is $2.90 one way, with transfers being free. Our wedding venue can be accessed through the Bedford L (grey line) stop, Metropolitan G (green line) stop or even Marcy J/M (brown/orange lines) stop should you want to travel that way. We are happy to provide detailed directions, descriptions and maps. Send us a note with your hotel info! Please also note that these directions may change to adapt to the recent announcement from the MTA regarding a shut down of the G line during an undisclosed time this summer. We await their alternate travel accommodation plans.
