FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Most of our events will be outdoors - so it is important to know what the weather may be like. September at Whispering Oaks (which is 8000 ft elevation) is moderately warm during the day (60-75 degrees) but can start to get a bit chilly in the evenings (40-50 degrees) - so remember to bring a jacket! We are not expecting rain, but there is an indoor area that we can retreat to for the ceremony and meals if need be.

Question

Are dogs allowed?

Answer

Some of you have noticed Whispering Oaks is normally pet friendly; however, they do not allow dogs at weddings. You'll have to leave the pups at home! (P.S. for those of you that know and love Obi, have no worries - the venue was nice enough to give us a special exemption to allow him to be there with us!)

Question

Are children / babies allowed to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! If you have young children, please take note of the playground and children's area that will be nearby the ceremony area - these might be useful refuges for a cranky toddler during the ceremony!

Question

Where do we sit during the ceremony?

Answer

Please seat yourself wherever you like! There won't be sides... you're all our family now. We will reserve seats in the front couple rows for our immediate families and wedding party. If you have young kids, please seat yourself somewhere near the outside or watch the ceremony from the nearby kids play area.

Question

I'm staying on-site: what meals / beverages are provided?

Answer

During the wedding weekend (Friday @ 4pm to Sunday @ 11 am) we will provide Friday and Saturday dinner, a light lunch Saturday, and brunch on Sunday morning. Each cabin has a full kitchen if you would like to stock it with additional snacks or breakfast items for Saturday morning. We will have an assortment of teas, coffee, non-alcoholic bubbly drinks, and session ales available during the day on Saturday. We will have 2-3 different mixed drinks available during the cocktail hour after the ceremony. In addition, Tucker will be brewing a lot of beer that will be available Friday and Saturday evenings. Sara and Tucker are in the process of making Elderberry wine, plum mead, and cherry mead for Saturday dinner.
