FAQs

The Wedding Website of Sapphire Muñoz and D’Andre Malik
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Think elegant, joyful, and full of color (pictured above) - just like the celebration we’re planning! We invite you to wear spring-inspired hues (yes, color is encouraged!!!) and semi-formal-to-formal attire. 👗 Women: Floral dresses, colorful cocktail or maxi dresses, or jumpsuits in bright or pastel shades. Heels, wedges, or dressy sandals welcome (Palmer’s terrain is friendly/flat, but consider block heels since you’ll be outdoors!). 🤵‍♂️ Men: Suits or dress pants with blazers in lighter or colorful tones—navy, sage, tan, soft blues, etc. Ties optional but welcome. Feel free to have fun with color / prints! 🎨 PLEASE AVOID : All black or all white, and no jeans, shorts, or flannels —let the color shine and keep it cute! Reminder to check the weather beforehand - There is a massive pavilion in case of not ideal weather.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

ASAP, strict deadline of May 1, 2026. Reminder the closer to wedding date you wait the more prices increase.

Consider Airbnb, Vrbo, and using discounts when applicable!

Question

When should I book our lodging, flights, transportation?

Answer

ASAP! Reminder that summer is prime tourist time here in Alaska and things get filled fast! For lodging if you want to score the best deals look into if your job offers travel discounts, look into Airbnb/Vrbo, and look into coordinating to book as a group. For flights you can anticipate $500-800 roundtrip per person during the summer - look into getting a travel credit card or using points/miles! If you want a car look into local Anchorage rentals, Turo app, and if you have a Costco Membership they have options too. Reminder - it takes 20 minutes to get from one side of town to the other here in Anchorage! You can fill the remaining days with biking, walking, hiking, ubering, and renting a car for only certain days to help save.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking available. Please remember our venue is at least 45 minutes outside of Anchorage...it will also be on a Friday (consider rush hour). You can coordinate to carpool if preferred. And if you plan on drinking, consider having a DD, Ubering, or staying in Palmer, Alaska for the night.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcomed, but they must be accompanied by you at all times! Alaska is such a beautiful, family-friendly state and we want our families and friends to enjoy an extended stay! We know how hard arranging childcare can be, so bring the kiddos or enjoy a night without them :) We can look into a sitter on site as well for the night - please reach out if interested in using.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Alaska is part of the United States, so no, woohoo! BUT, you do need your REAL ID to travel! Check with your airline if you are unsure.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please keep in mind there are only 2 highways by us with just 1 of them leading to the venue. If God forbid there is an accident, traffic will be backed up and you likely will not make it on time. You can use maps to see how long the drive should be from where your lodging will be at. Reminder, it’ll be on a Friday! My best advice is plan ahead to be in the vicinity before ceremony time.

Question

I have a food allergy/allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let me know of any life-threatening allergies or dietary restrictions and we can do our best to accommodate! But also, if you are prone to allergies, bring medicine just in case! Reminder, we will outside so be prepared for seasonal allergies just in case! We want you to enjoy the night!

Question

Where Should We Stay?

Answer

Anchorage, AK (Biggest City / Where We Live) - Downtown - South Anchorage - Rogers Park - Turnagain - Hillside - Spenard Cautious Locations: Mountain View, Fairview, East Side - There are pockets within these areas that may not be ideal to stay for entire trip. If you have concerns before booking, feel free to ask Bride if decent location. Anchorage for most part is very safe!! Nothing compared to Chicago so don't be scared lol. Eagle River, AK (In between Anchorage and Venue) Chugiak, AK (also in between Anchorage and Venue)
