Are kids welcomed at our wedding?

Answer

As this is a destination wedding, we understand many guests will be traveling with their children. Please note that the dance floor will open after dinner, after 10pm until 3am, and the venue is located by the beach and surrounded by pools, so children will need to be supervised at all times. We also kindly ask that they remain quiet and seated during key moments. If needed, some hotels offer professional, English-speaking babysitting services, please check directly with your hotel. You may also contact Kids in Greece to arrange childcare for extended coverage like 10–12 hours per day or for 6 days or more. We chose Chania because it already feels like home, as Sami’s parents live there, making it a place full of love and family memories. Chania is also a city with incredible history, dating back over 4,000 years to the ancient Minoan city of Kydonia. Over time, many civilizations including the Romans, Arabs, Venetians, and Ottomans shaped its unique cultural character, creating the beautiful blend of history, architecture, and Mediterranean charm we see today. It also reminds us of Lebanon, the groom’s home country, with its olive trees, amazing seafood, sandy beaches, and warm Mediterranean spirit. The palm trees at our chosen venue add a special touch that reflects Iraq, the bride’s home country. What are some popular Cretan dishes?

ما هي أشهر المأكولات الشعبية الكريتية؟ Dakos – a barley rusk topped with tomatoes, olive oil, and soft salty cheese. Moussaka – a baked layered dish with eggplant, spiced meat sauce (or vegeterian), and béchamel. Kalitsounia – small pies filled with local cheese or wild greens, baked or fried in olive oil. Bougatsa – flaky phyllo pastry with sweet custard (or savory cheese/meat), often served warm with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Lokma – sweet fried dough bites. Sfakianopita – thin pastry similar to crepes filled with soft mizithra cheese. Fresh seafood, especially grilled octopus (chtapodi sti schara), sea bream (tsipoura), sea bass, red mullet (koutsomoures), and swordfish. And of course, local olives and extra virgin olive oil!
