Welcome to Mount Desert Island, my childhood home and one of the most meaningful places in our lives. While you’re here celebrating with us, we hope you take some time to explore the island and experience what makes it so special.
Start in downtown Bar Harbor! You can browse local shops and galleries, have fresh seafood, and stroll along the Shore Path for beautiful views of Frenchman Bay. For a taste of Acadia National Park, drive the Park Loop Road, visit Thunder Hole and Sand Beach. Kayak on a lake, Go on a boat ride, or enjoy one of the many gorgeous hikes! Cadillac Mountain offers incredible views and unforgettable sunrises/sets just remember that a vehicle reservation is required.
For a slower afternoon, explore Acadia’s historic Carriage Roads, visit Jordan Pond House for its famous popovers Take a scenic drive through Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Seal Harbor, or Somesville.
