Hotel
El Dorado Royale and Casitas are adults only, 5 star all-inclusive, gourmet inclusive® luxury spa resort. It's one mile of unspoiled Punta Brava Beach in the heart of Riviera Maya, with a culinary theatre, 14 restaurants, 6 bars, 76,000 sq. ft. hydroponic greenhouse, 12 pools, 1 salt water pool, 2 tennis courts, volleyball, fitness center, sauna, steam room, live music & shows, mezcal tastings, and other exemplary services. We've added rooms in Generations Riviera Maya, which is a family friendly resort that is connected to the El Dorado resorts so they share access to all of their restaurants and pools, etc. $100 is required at booking, before June 30, and full payment is due by Jan 7. Set search criteria for 3-10-22 thru 3-13-22, at a minimum, and remove transportation for now. You'll book that later after you book your flight. Step by Step instructions are on the FAQs page. Expect another email for flights and airport transfers later ;)
Flight
Everyone is expected to book your own flights. I would advise to book 3-5 months before the trip. Alecia will be sending another email to remind everyone then! Note: The airport has 4 terminals so if you are sharing transportation, please make sure you're meeting up with other guests in your same terminal or that you meet up at the same terminal. The airport can be a bit hectic so save yourself the hassle and book your transportation through the resort. The resort is 25 mins from the Airport. Direct Flights: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore (BWI, 4 hrs), Boston, Charlotte, Chicago (ORD and MDW, 4 hrs), Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale (FLL and MIA, 2 hrs), Houston, Los Angeles (LAX, 4.5 hrs), Miami, Minneapolis, NYC, Orlando, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, DC (IAD, 4hrs)
Rental Car
Book your airport transfers through the same site that you used to book your room. Yes, you book these separately because you did not need your flight information to book your room, but you do need it to book transportation. Transportation must be booked before Feb 22, 2022. We are welcome to share a transfer with other guests and can coordinate with everyone using the link below (for a shared google doc) for those who want to coordinate. Private transfers can also be purchased but are more expensive. NOTE: The airport has 4 terminals so if sharing transportation, be sure you're flying into/out of the same terminal. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hjcr0Qfd3z1QG-sO-2raq9ZpKVY9dXc0Ydbn3TXt9hA/edit?usp=sharing
Travel Note
The only cash needed is tipping money and US dollars are accepted! (Tipping is not required, but suggested) The Mexican peso is the currency of Mexico and $1 USD is roughly 20 pesos but of course this varies.
Rental Car
You will not need to leave the resort for wedding activities; however, if you want to venture out, there are local experiences (Cenotes or Mayan Ruins for example). The resort can book tours/taxis for you so a car is not required. Also, if you rented a car, there is likely a valet fee for the resort. I do not know how much that will be, but you're welcome to check their site or call them.
Travel Note
Passport: Some countries require passports be valid at least 6 months beyond the dates of your trip, so the expiration needs to be after Sept 2022) AND it needs to have at least 2 blank pages. Some airlines will not allow you to board if these requirements are not met! If you do not have one: Apply several months in advance for a new passport especially because of covid because it may take longer to get it. You can take a passport photo at any CVS. Visa: Not required since no one is staying more than 180 days ;)
