Things To Do
Manhattan, Kansas may seem like an out-of-the way place, but we are never bored here. This part of Kansas is not flat - it's called the Flint Hills, and it is very beautiful. Here are some of the activities we have enjoyed in and around the Little Apple.
Flint Hills Discovery Center

We enjoyed a visit to the Discovery Center with Mary Barranger, Robert's sister, and her beau Jerry Blank. It was a lot of fun, and there is a lot to learn.
Konza Prairie Biological Station

We enjoyed a long hike at Konza Prairie last summer. It's colder now, but still beautiful!
US Cavalry Museum

Robert visited the Cavalry Museum with his brother Ed and also with other friends. Fort Riley was once home to General George Custer, and the cavalry played a large role in Kansas history. There is much to learn here.
OZ Museum

Mary and Jerry also joined us on an outing to the OZ Museum, and we had a wonderful time. We watched the movie the night before so it was fresh in our minds. And wouldn't you know, there were tornado warnings in the air as we sang along with Dorothy.
