Robert says they met in an elevator lobby. Ginny says they met at a work happy hour when she noticed him sending a drink back. Together they choose to say that they met at work. Regardless, this love story is built upon a near-immediate friendship that forever changed their lives. Both Houston-transplants with a shared love of learning, it wasn't long before we had a joint membership to the Houston Museum of Science and the Zoo in the very Museum District where we will soon be wed!
We don't really remember the exact date we shifted from being friends to being in a relationship. However, after 6 months of being the very best of friends, in February of 2016, we finally decided to admit we were in love. Then, the adventure began! From scuba diving the coral reefs, to traveling through over 5 countries and even making it through Quarantine and GMAT prep together - our relationship has been the fulcrum in the whirlwind of life.
If 2020 taught us anything, it was how to lean into change. Robert scrapped approximately four proposal plans - from having friends and family surprise Ginny in Houston, to proposing on the top of a Norwegian fjord. The final story was a proposal on the Emerald Coast near Robert’s family beach home with both sets of parents celebrating fit them perfectly. A short bike ride and a walk on their favorite section of the beach saw Robert get on one knee and Ginny all but tackle him with happiness. This magic marked the start of the rest of their lives.
There is nothing more important than sharing our vows in front of those we love most. Each of you has helped us get to this day. You have encouraged us, mentored us, loved us, laughed with us, cheered us on, and helped us to grow. Thank you, we are so excited to share our day with you! We cannot wait for the evening of February 12th, 2022!
