Travel Note
Mendocino is about a 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco. It’s a beautiful drive through wine country and along the Pacific Coast, and the road has windy and non-windy parts. There are no lights, so be prepared! Take a dramamine ahead of time if you get carsick! If you are not comfortable driving at night, we highly recommend leaving when it is still light out. There is also a good section of the drive (about 1.5 hours) that is rural and will not have gas stations or rest stops, so plan ahead! Directions to Mendocino from SFO and Sonoma: Take Highway 101 North towards Eureka then take CA-128 West towards Fort Bragg/ Mendocino. The last major town/ stop before the rural section is Boonville, so we recommend making a rest stop there if you need it.
Flight
For our out-of-Bay Area guests, the closest major airport is San Francisco International Airport. We suggest flying into SFO and renting a car to drive up to Mendocino (about 3.5 hour drive). You can also fly into Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS), which is about a 2 hour drive from Mendocino.
