Anderson Valley wineries are known for world class Pinot and white varietals. They’re all within an hour drive from Mendocino, with some as close as 30 minutes. Handley Cellars is one of the best in the Valley and is linked below. Lula, Witching Stick, Pennyroyal, and Navarro are also great options. Some require reservations and some allow walk-ins and are free, so we recommend checking ahead of time!
There is no shortage of iconic beaches on the North Coast. Most famous is probably glass beach in Fort Bragg - the beach is covered in colorful sea glass from back when they used to sadly dump garbage nearby. Van Damme State Beach, Jug Handle, and Caspar Headlands are also beautiful to visit. There’s tidepools to look at and kayaking and snorkeling tours that launch from near the venue if that’s your vibe too!
There are plenty of trails and state parks nearby that we highly recommend trying out! There’s Van Damme State Park, MacKerricher State Park, and Russian Gulch. There’s also the Mendocino Headlands trail right downtown that is more of a stroll but also beautiful! It also leads to a gorgeous beach! The Pygmy Forest trail is also fun to see!
