We have set up a registry online (please see below).
However, red/white envelopes will be more than welcome as well!
Culturally, the following numbers are avoided in wedding gifts:
1. Even numbers, which can be taken as an omen that the couple can be easily divided
2. The number 4, which can be pronounced the same as "death" in Japanese/Chinese
3. The number 9, which can be pronounced the same as "to suffer" in Japanese
4. Note: The $ amount can still end in 0's. Rule 1 does not apply to that.
