Yes, we should all strive to be readers. 🙂
Please adhere to a formal or black-tie optional dress code. DO NOT WEAR THE FOLLOWING COLORS: All black; white; red; gold; silver; anything metallic or flashy. Please wear a conservative outfit as we will be at a shrine. We recommend something warm as the venue is partially outdoors and will not be heated. Additionally, please consider wearing socks/stockings as most of the wedding and reception will be a shoes-off affair.
Due to strict policies regarding the limited occupancy of the shrine and restaurant, we are only able to accommodate invitees we have included in the initial RSVP and e-invite. Please note that this will be a kids/babies-free wedding. No children under the age of 18 will be allowed at the ceremony and reception.
We have arranged a shuttle bus to pick up guests from two hotels: Hotel Okura: 9:00AM The Chapter, Kyoto: 9:30AM We will let you know a month prior to the wedding where/when each guest should get on the bus. If you are NOT taking the shuttle to Kamigamo-jinja, please arrive there by 10:00AM.
NO! The shrine has respectfully asked for all guests to refrain from using their phones or cameras during the majority of the ceremony. After the San-San-Kudo -- a tradition involving sharing sake -- takes place, the shrine priest may indicate that it is acceptable to take photos. However, please keep all devices on silent during the entire shrine ceremony.
Please refer to our Google Slides deck in the "Travel Recommendations and Tips" section for our list of recommended hotels. If you have any urgent questions, please reach out to us immediately.
Please reach out to us immediately if you have any dietary restrictions so we can communicate it to the restaurant.
Our cash registry is located here on Zola. However, if you are attending our ceremony, white/red envelopes will be more than welcome as well!
