Now a museum, this was once the home of famous author, Mark Twain, and his family from 1874 to 1891. Twain wrote some of his most memorable works here, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. Open 7 days a week from 0930-1730, the last tour starts at 1615. Purchase tickets online for other a general house tour or living history tour. Please note tickets often sell out ahead of time.
Beautiful historic Colonial Revival building and impressionist art museum, including Mary Cassatt, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, and James McNeill Whistler. Grounds and hiking trails are free to the public; dogs are welcome, but must remain on leash at all times. Trash receptacles are scattered throughout the property. A beautiful campus where Nick and Rebecca fell in love! Stroll the campus, check out downtown Storrs Center, the campus bookstore, and Horsebarn Hill. Rebecca and Nick remain connected to campus as Rebecca runs the sports engagement and other events for UConn Alumni in Washington, D.C.
Shopping, restaurants, coffee, and strolls. Enjoy a wide array of options where Rebecca and her family have spent a lot of their time as Mr. Kall worked at the fire station located on Brace Road. Rebecca and Nick would often get drinks and food here, especially when Nick was completing his business internship in the center. While technically different, the Center and Blueback Square are within walking distance of each other and have plenty of options for all!

Get a slice of a classic New Haven style “ah-beetz” slice at Pepe’s, stroll Wooster Street, or check out the Connecticut Pizza Trail to get in on the action of debating which classic pizza is the best in the state. We recommend the original tomato pie with mozzarella (the original tomato will be without cheese!). After checking out out Pepe’s, make sure you get some Italian ice and some cookies from Libby’s. (Red raspberry in a squeeze cup is Rebecca’s favorite) There’s a reason Connecticut is known as the Pizza Capital of the U.S.! Westfarms has a great selection of stores and food options. Nearby is Corbin’s Corner Shopping Center and West Farm Shopping Center, which also have a great number of shops should you wish to peruse or just in case you forgot something!

Rebecca and Nick have been frequenting the original Charlton location for over 10 years and it has become one of their favorite locations.
