The Haldi Ceremony is a vibrant pre-wedding ritual where friends and family gather to apply turmeric (haldi) paste to the bride and groom's faces and bodies in a very festive atmosphere. The applying of the haldi symbolizes purification, and gives the bride and groom a beautiful glow. We recommend bringing a jacket or coat as Lake Tahoe temperatures can range from the mid 40s to the mid 50s (7-13C) this time of year. Lunch will be served.

A night of music and dancing, at 7000ft no less! The Sangeet, meaning "sung together" in Sanskrit, is the pre-wedding celebration of music and dancing (plenty choreographed as well) to break the ice between families and friends and build the festive atmosphere before the wedding. Shuttles will take guests to the venue and back. Shuttles will stage at 4PM. There is limited parking on site so we are asking all guests to take the shuttles provided. The Wedding Ceremony or "Vivah" in Sanskrit, is the traditional Hindu marriage ceremony. It is centered on seven sacred vows the couple will take while walking around a sacred fire seven times (also called the "Saptapadi" meaning seven steps, or "Pheras" meaning walks around), symbolizing their unity and lifetime commitment.
